‘The Lone Ranger’ Stumbles at the Box Office, Finishes Weekend in Second Place

The Lone Ranger and Tonto were no match for a reformed villain and his band of merry minions at the box office.
Disney’s The Lone Ranger earned a dismal $48.9 million, ending its debut weekend in second place way behind Universal’s Despicable Me 2 which earned $142 million. Analysts had projected an opening weekend of $90 million for the movie directed by Gore Verbinski and produced by Jerry Bruckheimer.
Of the $48.9 million box office, the film earned $29.4 million between Friday and Saturday. This three-day total was worse than the debut …

First Trailer for Disney’s ‘The Lone Ranger’ Released

The first trailer for Disney’s The Lone Ranger has been released. While it doesn’t showcase many details of the film, you do get to see a montage of various Wild West icons including a speeding train rushing through the desert.
A remake of the 1950’s t.v. show, Armie Hammer plays the role of ranger-turned-vigilante John Reid while Johnny Depp plays his faithful sidekick Tonto.

Production Begins on Disney’s ‘The Lone Ranger’

Sources have announced that production has begun for the upcoming Disney flick The Lone Ranger, featuring Armie Hammer in the starring role and Johnny Depp as Tonto.
The film takes place in 1869 and will be directed by Gore Verbinski, and will mark the 5th collaboration between Verbinski and Depp after the first three Pirates of the Caribbean films and Rango.

‘The Lone Ranger’ Sets May 2013 Release Date

After weeks of speculating whether or not the project would proceed, Disney has set an official release date for the upcoming film The Lone Ranger. The film will make its debut in theaters on May 13, 2013.
The Gore Verbinski-directed film, which will star Johnny Depp as Tonto, was initially slated to be released next fall; however, production on the film was shut down when Disney feared the project’s budget was out-of-hand. Disney Likely to Start Production on ‘The Lone Ranger’

We let you know a few weeks ago that Disney was still debating their decision on the fate of Gore Verbinski’s big budget blockbuster The Lone Ranger, and it looks like they may have made their decision. Deadline.com is reporting that Disney has agreed to put the film back into production, with an official announcement regarding the start of production expected early next week.

Disney to Decide Fate of ‘The Lone Ranger’ Within the Week

After months of speculation regarding the big budget blockbuster The Lone Ranger, fans were disappointed when production on the film, barely begun, was abruptly shut down.  Whispers of concerns over budget surfaced, as industry watchers scratched their heads, and wondered about the fate of the film.

Disappointing news came for fans looking forward to Disney’s remake of The Lone Ranger last night, when Disney announced that production would be stopped on the Western film. The film was set to begin shooting in the fall, with a release date in December 2012.

Disney’s ‘The Lone Ranger’ Gets December 2012 Release Date

We now know when we can expect to see Disney’s The Lone Ranger in theatres.  The company has announced that the film will debut on December 21, 2012. 
The film will be set in 1869, and will focus on the Masked Texas Ranger and his faithful friend, Tonto, as they spread justice throughout the Old West.
