Catch a Sneak Preview of ‘Alice Through the Looking Glass’ at Disney Parks in May

Disney’s Alice Through the Looking Glass opens in theaters on May 27 but guests at Disney’s Hollywood Studios and Disney California Adventure can get a special sneak preview.
Starting May 6, guests at Disney’s Hollywood Studios will see a special preview of the film as part of One Man’s Dream. Guests at Disney California Adventure will see a 3D preview presented with in-theater effects at Sunset Showcase Theater.

Production Begins on Sequel to 2010’s ‘Alice in Wonderland’

Production has started on the sequel to Tim Burton’s 2010 live-action Alice in Wonderland.
Alice in Wonderland: Through the Looking Glass stars many of the original cast members including Johnny Depp, Mia Wasikowska, Helena Bonham Carter, and Anne Hathaway.
Some new faces are also joining the cast including Sacha Baron Cohen as “Time,” Rhys Ifans (Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows) as the Mad Hatter’s father Zanik Hightopp, and Ed Speleers (Downton Abbey) as James Harcourt.

Next ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’ Film Finally Gets a Release Date

After several delays it appears that Captain Jack Sparrow is returning to the big screen.
Pirates of the Caribbean 5 – which had a working title of Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales at one point – is now slated for release in July 2017, nearly two years later than originally scheduled.
The film has suffered several delays and other issues, including Jerry Bruckheimer’s departure from Disney last fall.

ABC Family Announces 15th Annual ’13 Nights of Halloween’ Programming Event

ABC Family is celebrating Halloween with their annual 13 Nights of Halloween programming event.
This is the 15th year for the popular programming event which begins October 19 and concludes on Halloween night, October 31. This year’s lineup includes a new episode of Pretty Little Liars and the premiere of the spinoff series Ravenwood.

Disney Delays Release of ‘Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales’

The fifth installment in the wildly popular and successful Pirates of the Caribbean film series has been put on hold.
The movie, Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales, was scheduled for a 2015 release, but that has been pushed back to at least 2016.

‘The Lone Ranger’ Stumbles at the Box Office, Finishes Weekend in Second Place

The Lone Ranger and Tonto were no match for a reformed villain and his band of merry minions at the box office.
Disney’s The Lone Ranger earned a dismal $48.9 million, ending its debut weekend in second place way behind Universal’s Despicable Me 2 which earned $142 million. Analysts had projected an opening weekend of $90 million for the movie directed by Gore Verbinski and produced by Jerry Bruckheimer.
Of the $48.9 million box office, the film earned $29.4 million between Friday and Saturday. This three-day total was worse than the debut …

The Walt Disney Company and Subway Restaurants Collaborate for Release of ‘Monsters University’ and ‘The Lone Ranger’

This summer Disney is once again collaborating with SUBWAY restaurants to celebrate the release of two highly-anticipated summer movies – Disney/Pixar’s Monsters University and Disney/Jerry Bruckheimer Films’ The Lone Ranger.
SUBWAY is the “Official Training Restaurant for Monsters Everywhere” and throughout the month of June monsters will be making cameo appearances in commercials for the restaurants, and all Fresh Fit For Kids meals will come in a Monsters University reusable backpack.
