Disney has hired Catch Me If You Can screenwriter Jeff Nathanson to pen the fifth Pirates of the Caribbean film, sources are reporting.
While Johnny Depp has not officially signed on to reprise his role as Captain Jack Sparrow, the Mouse House is optimistic that he will return, as he has said in the past he will always return to the franchise if the material remains good.

Walt Disney has released a full theatrical trailer for their upcoming film The Lone Ranger, starring Johnny Depp as Tonto and Armie Hammer as the title character.
Directed by Gore Verbinski, the movie also stars Tom Wilkinson,William Fichtner, Barry Pepper, James Badge Dale, Ruth Wilson, and Helena Bonham Carter. The remake of the popular 1950′s t.v. show will hit theaters July 3, 2013.

Sources have announced that Disney has wrapped up a deal for an untitled pitch written by Steve Pink and Jeff Morris. The story, a modern re-take on Don Quixote, will be produced by Infinitum Nihil’s Johnny Depp and Christi Dembrowski.
Johnny Depp has made no secret of his fascination with the Don Quixote character, and was even attached to the Quixote film that Terry Gilliam was previously trying to make.
While few details are available about the film at this point, we’ll update you as soon as we know more.

The first trailer for Disney’s The Lone Ranger has been released. While it doesn’t showcase many details of the film, you do get to see a montage of various Wild West icons including a speeding train rushing through the desert.

Walt Disney Pictures has announced that Grammy-winning Jack White will write, produce and perform the score for The Lone Ranger.
Jerry Bruckheimer says:
Jack’s an amazing songwriter with a unique style. We’re thrilled to hear his fresh take on the William Tell Overture.
The film stars Armie Hammer and Johnny Depp, and is based on the 1950′s television series. While this is Jack White’s first full score, he did write a song for 2008′s Quantum of Solace and performed a track on 2007′s Cold Mountain.

We are getting our FIRST LOOK at the Cast of Disney/Bruckheimer Film’s The Lone Ranger today!  This still features Armie Hammer as the title character – by day, John Reid, a lawman who becomes everyone’s favorite Old West Masked Man!  His faithful friend, Tonto, is by his side – and is that actor/chameleon Johnny Depp, channeling a little of his Captain Jack mojo for this Native American look!

Sources have announced that production has begun for the upcoming Disney flick The Lone Ranger, featuring Armie Hammer in the starring role and Johnny Depp as Tonto.
