New ‘Savor the Savanna Evening Safari Experience’ Coming to Disney’s Animal Kingdom

There’s a brand-new evening safari experience coming to Disney’s Animal Kingdom.
The ‘Savor the Savanna Evening Safari Experience’ is a premium guest experience that gives guests the chance experience Kilimanjaro Safaris after dark on a private safari vehicle.
The tour takes you around the savanna with a stop at an exclusive viewing area where guests will enjoy African-inspired tapas and regional beer and wine (for those 21 and older). Guests also receive a special keepsake as part of the tour.

Disney’s Announces Delay in Nighttime Offerings at Disney’s Animal Kingdom

The much-anticipated nighttime events at Disney’s Animal Kingdom will not be starting on April 22 as planned.
Disney announced today that the nighttime show Rivers of Light and the evening experiences at the park’s iconic Tree of Life will not open on Earth Day. No official opening day was announced.
The announcement said that additional time was needed to create experiences that would “exceed guests’ expectations.”
Other nighttime offerings at the theme park are supposed to include the Discovery Island Carnivale, Harambe Wildlife Parti, and a nighttime safari experience on Kilimanjaro Safaris. Disney’s …

Zebra Area Nears Completion at Disney’s Animal Kingdom

Zebras are being reintroduced slowly to Disney’s Animal Kingdom theme park, where they will be the new finale of the Kilimanjaro Safaris attraction that carries guests through an Africa-inspired savanna.  Fifteen Plains zebras have been adjusting to their Florida surroundings in backstage areas of Walt Disney World since arriving in February.
The herd was acquired through the Associations of Zoos and Aquariums (AZA), a nonprofit organization that backs the conservation and science sides of animal studies.
Members of the herd are 5 to 10 years old, weigh between 650 and 800 pounds, and …

Disney’s Animal Kingdom Kilimanjaro Safaris Attraction to Undergo Renovations This Spring

At Disney’s Animal Kingdom, the Kilimanjaro Safaris attraction will be undergoing renovations this spring. The renovations are designed to enable guests to see more of their favorite wildlife, specifically zebras.
In order to make these renovations happen, Walt Disney Imagineering will remove the Audio-Animatronics “Little Red” elephant and other set pieces to make room for more animals. Once the set pieces are removed, the area will be reconstructed as additional savannah space and include a new watering hole for the wildlife.

Walt Disney World: New Details About Animal Kingdom’s Personalized Kilimanjaro Treks

Several weeks ago we reported about a new experience coming to Walt Disney World’s Animal Kingdom Park, personalized treks into Kilimanjaro Safaris. Small groups of guests will go more ‘in depth’ into the safaris with specialized guides, see parts of the savannah unavailable to the general guest population, and learn more about the animals which call the savannah home. Personalized Guided Tours of Kilimanjaro Safaris Coming to Disney’s Animal Kingdom

For guests who’ve always wanted to go more in-depth with the animals & environment at Disney’s Animal Kingdom “Kilimanjaro Safaris” attraction the time is coming. Disney announced the addition of personalized guided treks through the safaris for an intimate number of guests per tour. Baby Elephant at Disney’s Animal Kingdom is Being Introduced to the Savannah

Back on May 23rd we reported about the birth of a baby elephant at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, a beautiful baby girl. Luna, now almost one month old, is taking her first steps into the Kilimanjaro Safaris Savannah. Luna has a lot of adapting and learning to do and Disney is taking every precaution to foster her health and well-being.
Luna will spend plenty of time bonding with her Mother Donna, she’ll do a “swim test” to prepare herself for the small bodies on water in the Savannah, and she’ll be introduced …

It’s a Girl! Baby Elephant Born at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Park.

A bouncing 288-pound baby girl has been born at Disney’s Animal Kingdom theme park, after a 22-month gestation period the new elephant was born late Friday night & has yet to be given a name. Her Mother, Donna, also gave birth to another female named Nadirah back in 2005. After the new birth this weekend Disney boasts a population of thirteen elephants in their park, including five males and eight females.
