Live-Action Incredibles TV Show: “No Ordinary Family” on ABC

ABC is introducing a new TV series that will look mighty-familiar to Disney fans. “No Ordinary Family” debuts this Fall, introducing a Mom, Dad, brother, and sister who have super-powers…and are trying to live normal, suburban lives at the same time.
But it’s not exactly like The Incredibles because they weren’t born with their abilities. As seen in the NOF trailer, they acquire them while on vacation when their plane crashes into a body of water with “a phosphorescence.”

Disney Plans Live Action Cinderella

Disney recently shelled out a seven-figure amount to pick up the rights to a live-action Cinderella adaptation. This on the heels of the blockbuster live-action version of Alice in Wonderland, and in the mix with the adaptations underway from numerous studios of The Wizard of Oz, Wicked, and other fairy tale stories.
The winner in this deal is Aline Brosh McKenna, screenwriter for The Devil Wears Prada and 27 Dresses, who pitched the story to Disney. Simon Kinberg will produce the film. Brosh McKenna and Kinberg worked together previously on …

Angelina Jolie Rumored in Maleficent Role

Rumors are flying about Angelina Jolie’s potential involvement in Disney’s upcoming live-action film, Maleficent. The story will tell Disney’s classic “Sleeping Beauty” tale from the villain’s perspective.
Both Tim Burton and Angelina Jolie had last spring been rumored to join the project, which Disney has been kicking around for a while as a way to mine its library, among other things. Burton’s involvement remains unclear as he contemplates several projects. But sources say that, as of the last few weeks, Jolie is keen on the film and would like to …
