Crew Member On Set of ‘The Lone Ranger’ Dies

48-year-old Michael Andrew Bridger, who was working as a crew member on the set of Disney’s The Lone Ranger,passed away last week.
Bridger was dressed in scuba gear and cleaning out a pool that was to be used on the film set in Acton, CA, northeast of Los Angeles. It appears he suffered a heart attack while working, but an autopsy will reveal the official cause of death.
Walt Disney Studios says its thoughts are with Bridger’s friends and family, and they are making every effort to identify the cause of death. …

Disney Wonder to Make San Diego Debut

The Disney Wonder will become the first Disney Cruise Line vessel to stop in San Diego – just in time for the 2012-2013 “pleasure cruise” season.
Over the next month, the 2,700 passenger ship will make four visits to San Diego from Los Angeles, as it picks up and drops off passengers for the Disney/Pixar themed cruises. The marching band from San Diego State University will be on hand to greet passengers, while San Diego Mayor Jerry Sanders will exchange plaques with the captain.

Disney-Inspired Home For Sale in Los Angeles

A home built by Disney theme park designer Robert F. McDonnell has been placed on the market for $1.5999 million.
Graystone Manor, located in the exclusive La Canada Flintridge neighborhood in Los Angeles, CA, features three stories on a sprawling 1-acre property. Other features include three bedrooms, four bathrooms, leaded and stained glass recreations of gas lighting fixtures, a vaulted ceiling game room and an English Pub-style wet bar. L.A. Toy Company Sues Marvel Over ‘Iron Man’ Merchandising Deal

Last week, owner of Los Angeles toy company Box-O-Mania Maxim Tselevich sued Marvel Entertainment over an alleged Iron Man merchandising deal gone wrong.
Tselevich claims that in 2010 both companies worked out a deal to create special Iron Man’s Lair Play Boxes, playhouses that featured Iron Man and would be released in November of 2010 to coincide with the release of Iron Man 2 on DVD.
According to the lawsuit, Box-O-Mania claims that Marvel “game them the runaround for months,” refusing to give over the artwork and intellectual property rights required in …

In 2013, Adventures by Disney will be offering a new destination for families to visit – Southeast Asia, which will feature Vietnam, Cambodia and Laos. Kids Can Enter Radio Disney’s ‘Who Do You Love’ Sweepstakes for a Chance to Meet a Disney Star

From now until February 23, 2012, kids ages 16 and younger can enter Radio Disney’s “Who Do You Love” sweepstakes. The grand prize? A trip for four to Los Angeles to attend a meet-and-greet with a Disney Star of your choice.
The prize includes hotel accommodations, transportation, and airline tickets if the winner resides more than 250 miles from Los Angeles. The retail value of the prize is valued at $3,500.

Four Disney Wonder Sailings Dropped for 2012

Next December, four Disney Wonder cruises from Los Angeles to Mexico have been dropped, sources say.
The 2012 sailings that were planned for December 9, 16, 23 and 30 would have stopped at Cabo San Lucas, Puerto Vallarta and other Mexican cities, but have now been canceled. Guests who had reserved these sailings will be offered spots on different Disney cruises instead.

Long Lost Walt Disney Cartoon to be Auctioned

A Walt Disney cartoon that has been lost for decades will soon be up for auction at Bonhams in Los Angeles on December 14. The 5 minute, 21 second black-and-white short Hungry Hobos was created in 1928, and stars Oswald the Lucky Rabbit, along with his friend Peg Leg Pete, who get into some mischief on a train.
The short was discovered in the Huntley Film Archives, one of the U.K.’s largest archives with over 80,000 films – half of which are not properly cataloged.

Disney Cruise Line Kicks Off Alaska Itinerary with ‘Kids Sail Free’ Offer

The Disney Wonder is rolling out a new promotion in hopes of getting its expansion into the Alaska cruise market off to a strong start.
