You better get some sleep this week! The next Limited Time Magic event – the Disney Parks Monstrous Summer All-Nighter starts May 24 at 6 a.m. local time at the Magic Kingdom and the Disneyland Resort.

Today was an important day for the Disney Princesses, as Merida, star of Disney/Pixar’s Brave, officially became the eleventh Disney Princess. The coronation took place during a ceremony held this morning at Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom.
The ceremony was attended by all ten current Disney Princesses: Snow White, Aurora, Belle, Ariel, Cinderella, Jasmine, Pocahontas, Tiana, Mulan, and Rapunzel. Olympic gold medalist Gabby Douglas was also on hand to preside over the ceremony, and Merida was officially given the title of a Disney Princess by her mother, Queen Elinor.

This week the Disney Parks are celebrating princesses, Cinco de Mayo, and glow ears with special Limited Time Magic events.
Starting Sunday May 5 and running through the end of the week, a Limited Time Magic Fiesta is happening at the Mexico Pavilion in Epcot. Guests can meet the Three Caballeros – Panchito, Jose Carioca and el Pato Donald – and enjoy special performances including marionettes and folkloric dancing. The San Angel Inn and La Hacienda are offering special menus that include Cinco de Mayo inspired drinks, appetizers, entrees, and desserts.

Once Upon a Time‘s Evil Queen found a new kingdom this week, as actress Lana Parrilla visited New Fantasyland in Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom.
Parilla, who plays the Evil Queen/Regina Mills on the hit ABC show, visited New Fantasyland this week to film a promo for the newly-opened area. Check out this behind-the-scenes video of Parrilla’s trip to the new land, which includes her encounters with such characters as The Beast and Gaston, courtesy of the Disney Parks Blog:

Tickets for Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party, Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party, and the Night of Joy went on sale Wednesday, May 1.
Night of Joy is a contemporary Christian music festival taking place in the Magic Kingdom and featuring performances by contemporary Christian rock, pop, and gospel artists. The festival is scheduled for September 6 and 7 this year. Tickets are $55 for all ages.

Disney is adding one more princess to its royal roster. On May 11, Merida – the red headed princess from Disney/Pixar’s Brave – will celebrate her royal coronation at the Magic Kingdom.
Her official coronation ceremony is planned for 9:30 a.m. at Cinderella’s Castle. The current royal court of 10 official Disney Princesses is expected to attend. Guest visiting the Magic Kingdom that day are also welcome to witness the coronation.

This November the Walt Disney World Resort will, for the first time ever, be host to a three-day charity walk sponsored by For A Cause. The Walk The World event is part of the A Walk Around The World Fundraising Walking Event series and is planned for November 14-18.
For A Cause is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization that plans multi-day charity walks in vacation destinations. All participants are allowed to walk for the charity of their choice.
The Walk the World event is a walk-only fundraiser and is limited to 50 participants. …
