The Disney Parks Monstrous Summer All-Nighter Limited Time Magic Event is May 24

You better get some sleep this week! The next Limited Time Magic event – the Disney Parks Monstrous Summer All-Nighter starts May 24 at 6 a.m. local time at the Magic Kingdom and the Disneyland Resort.
Some of the events planned at the Magic Kingdom include Mike and Sulley – the stars of Disney/Pixar’s Monsters University – joining in the Move It, Shake It, Celebrate It! Street Party. Merida Officially Becomes Eleventh Disney Princess in Magic Kingdom Ceremony

Today was an important day for the Disney Princesses, as Merida, star of Disney/Pixar’s Brave, officially became the eleventh Disney Princess. The coronation took place during a ceremony held this morning at Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom.
The ceremony was attended by all ten current Disney Princesses: Snow White, Aurora, Belle, Ariel, Cinderella, Jasmine, Pocahontas, Tiana, Mulan, and Rapunzel. Olympic gold medalist Gabby Douglas was also on hand to preside over the ceremony, and Merida was officially given the title of a Disney Princess by her mother, Queen Elinor.

Limited Time Magic Events Include Princesses and a Mexican Fiesta

This week the Disney Parks are celebrating princesses, Cinco de Mayo, and glow ears with special Limited Time Magic events.
Starting Sunday May 5 and running through the end of the week, a Limited Time Magic Fiesta is happening at the Mexico Pavilion in Epcot. Guests can meet the Three Caballeros – Panchito, Jose Carioca and el Pato Donald – and enjoy special performances including marionettes and folkloric dancing. The San Angel Inn and La Hacienda are offering special menus that include Cinco de Mayo inspired drinks, appetizers, entrees, and desserts.

Lana Parrilla of ‘Once Upon a Time’ Visits New Fantasyland

Once Upon a Time‘s Evil Queen found a new kingdom this week, as actress Lana Parrilla visited New Fantasyland in Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom.
Parilla, who plays the Evil Queen/Regina Mills on the hit ABC show, visited New Fantasyland this week to film a promo for the newly-opened area. Tickets on Sale For Special Events at Walt Disney World

Tickets for Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party, Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party, and the Night of Joy went on sale Wednesday, May 1.
Night of Joy is a contemporary Christian music festival taking place in the Magic Kingdom and featuring performances by contemporary Christian rock, pop, and gospel artists. The festival is scheduled for September 6 and 7 this year. Tickets are $55 for all ages.
Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party is scheduled for select days from September 10  through November 1. The event includes Mickey’s “Boo To You” Halloween Parade, Happy Hallowishes fireworks …

Merida Set to Become an Official Disney Princess

Disney is adding one more princess to its royal roster. On May 11, Merida – the red headed princess from Disney/Pixar’s Brave – will celebrate her royal coronation at the Magic Kingdom.
Her official coronation ceremony is planned for 9:30 a.m. at Cinderella’s Castle. The current royal court of 10 official Disney Princesses is expected to attend. Guest visiting the Magic Kingdom that day are also welcome to witness the coronation.

Three-Day Charity Walk Planned for This Fall at the Walt Disney World Resort

This November the Walt Disney World Resort will, for the first time ever, be host to a three-day charity walk sponsored by For A Cause. The Walk The World event is part of the A Walk Around The World Fundraising Walking Event series and is planned for November 14-18.
For A Cause is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization that plans multi-day charity walks in vacation destinations. All participants are allowed to walk for the charity of their choice.
The Walk the World event is a walk-only fundraiser and is limited to 50 participants. …

May Merchandise Events Announced for Walt Disney World Resort

Walt Disney World Resort recently announced upcoming merchandise events for the month of May and fans of pin trading, Vinylmations, and even Precious Moments dolls might want to grab a calendar.
This Friday, May 3, Betsy DePadova, Disney Design Group Artist, is scheduled to appear at Disney’s Pin Traders in the Downtown Disney Marketplace from 5-7 p.m. to sign the latest 2013 series pin and Vinylmation releases. New Parade to Debut at the Magic Kingdom in 2014

Disney’s Magic Kingdom is getting a brand new parade in the spring of 2014, according to an announcement made yesterday at the “Monstrous Summer” press event.
The parade, named the Disney Festival of Fantasy Parade, celebrates New Fantasyland with innovative parade floats, vibrant costumes, and an all new original soundtrack featuring songs from Disney films and a theme song for the parade.
Stories highlighted in the parade include The Little Mermaid, Sleeping Beauty, Dumbo, Pinocchio, Peter Pan, Tangled, and Disney/Pixar’s Brave.

Kick Off a Monstrous Summer with a Three Park ‘All-Nighter’

Disney’s Monstrous Summer kicks off next month when three Disney theme parks will stay open for 24 hours on Memorial Day Weekend. The Magic Kingdom, Disneyland, and Disney California Adventure will be open from 6 a.m. local time on May 24 until 6 a.m. local time May 25.
