Mickey’s Royal Friendship Faire Starts June 17 at the Magic Kingdom

Mickey’s Royal Friendship Faire, the new stage show at the Magic Kingdom, debuts June 17.
The show stars Rapunzel and Tiana – a first for both princesses – and also features Mickey, Donald Duck, Daisy Duck, and Goofy plus characters from Frozen, Tangled, and The Princess and the Frog.
Mickey’s Royal Friendship Fair “brings to life beloved Disney stories” and features original songs, musich, dancing, and new costumes.
In the show Mickey and his friends travel to distant lands to invite their friends to Mickey’s Royal Friendship Faire.

Disney PhotoPass Announces Animated Magic Shots

Disney PhotoPass has announced new Animated Magic Shots at the Walt Disney World Resort.
These new additions to PhotoPass pictures include Mickey and Minnie – with Mickey joining guests in the photo and Minnie acting as photographer. You can check out a video the animated picture here.
The Mickey and Minnie Animated Magic Shot is available at Disney’s Hollywood Studios on Hollywood Boulevard and near the Partners Statue at the Magic Kingdom.

New Designs Available at Retail MagicBand on Demand Stations at Walt Disney World Resort

If you’re making plans to visit the MagicBand on Demand stations at Walt Disney World Resort there are a few new designs from which to choose.
New designs include Beauty and the Beast, Duffy the Disney Bear, and ShellieMay. Guests visiting Disney Springs will find two designs by Jerrod Maruyama.
Haunted Mansion fans will want to check out the four new designs inspired by the attraction, and there are also several new designs inspired by attractions in the Magic Kingdom including classics such as Mr. Toad’s Wild Ride.

Summer Fun Kicks Off Memorial Day Weekend at the Walt Disney World Resort

The summer officially awakens on Memorial Day weekend at the Walt Disney World Resort.
Each theme park at Disney World will be celebrating summer with new shows, experiences, and even the reopening of popular attractions (Epcot, we’re looking at you).
At Disney’s Animal Kingdom guests will have a chance to experience the entire park after dark for the first time ever. The Tree of Life will transform each night and two new nighttime parties are planned – Harambe Wildlife Parti and Discovery Island Carnivale.

Happy HalloWishes Premium Dessert Party Planned for Select Dates this Fall at the Magic Kingdom

If you’re making plans to attend Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party this fall at the Magic Kingdom there’s also a premium dessert party available on select nights.
The Happy HalloWishes Dessert Party is available on select nights starting Friday, September 2 and running through Monday, October 31.
Guests attending the party will have a chance to see Mickey’s Boo-To-You Halloween Parade from a reserved spot on Main Street U.S.A.
The dessert party features Halloween-themed cupcakes and other sweets including chocolate covered strawberries, chocolate mousses, cheese, fruits, specialty Halloween drinks, hot cocoa, tea, and more.

Guests Can Now Get Married in Front of Cinderella Castle at the Magic Kingdom

Anyone who has ever dreamed of getting married in front of Cinderella Castle at the Magic Kingdom – your wish has been granted.
Disney’s Fairy Tale Weddings recently announced a new addition to its “Wishes Collection” – a ceremony in the East Plaza Garden with Cinderella Castle in the background.
This wedding package takes place in the morning after rope drop at the park and can accommodate up to 100 guests. The bride will travel down Main Street U.S.A. in Cinderella Carriage before arriving at the ceremony site.

The Week in Disney News: Free Dining, Virtual 5K Races, and More!

Happy May! What a week full of exciting Disney news! Let’s dive right in.
The week started as many thought it would – with an announcement about free dining for select dates this fall at the Walt Disney World Resort. The free dining dates start August 23 and run through December 21 on certain weeks.
runDisney has announced a series of virtual 5K races to benefit the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. The race series starts in just a couple of weeks and participants will receive finisher medals.

Anna and Elsa to Leave Princess Fairytale Hall in Magic Kingdom and Move to Epcot this Sumer

Anna and Elsa are making a move!
The princesses (OK, the queen of Arendelle and her sister the princess) are packing up and leaving the Princess Fairytale Hall at the Magic Kingdom sometime this summer.
They’re moving over to Epcot to the soon-to-open Royal Sommerhus in Epcot’s Norway pavilion.
The new Sommerhus is part of the expansion in Norway that also includes the all-new attraction Frozen Ever After which is housed in the former location of Maelstrom.
Guests can visit the Royal Sommerhus and meet Anna and Elsa once the updated area opens sometime …

Disney After Hours Price Reduced for Annual Passholders and Disney Vacation Club Members

Disney has reduced the price for the Disney After Hours for guests who are Annual Passholders and Disney Vacation Club members.
The regular price for this event at the Magic Kingdom is $149 but Disney has announced that the price is cut to $75 for Annual Passholders and DVC members for the remaining nights of the event.
Five nights remain for the event – April 28, and May 5, 8, 12, and 19. There is no word yet on whether Disney will extend the event on additional dates.
