First Look: Concept Art for Ariel’s Grotto at New Fantasyland

Today, we have concept art to show you of Ariel’s Grotto, a new meet and greet location coming to the New Fantasyland at Magic Kingdom park.
As you can see from the photograph, visitors will be able to greet Ariel in her mermaid form, seated on a seashell throne. This new character location will be located at the base of the cliffs where Prince Eric’s Castle sits, but will be separate from the Little Mermaid attraction.

New Nighttime Show Coming to Magic Kingdom Park

In November, “Celebrate the Magic” will be coming to Magic Kingdom Park.
This new nighttime projection show on Cinderella’s Castle will incorporate certain elements from the current show “The Magic, The Memories and You!,” but combine these favorite features with all-new special effects, stories and music.

Mermaid Makeovers Available at Magic Kingdom Park May 20

To celebrate the release of Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides, The Pirate’s League at Magic Kingdom Park will start offering the “Mermaid Transformation Package” to girls and women of all ages who wish to transform into this beautiful legend of the sea.
The deluxe, limited-time makeover package will debut May 20, and includes a makeup application that evokes the spirit of the mermaid, as well as a full size bottle of O.P.I’s Mermaid’s Tears nail lacquer from their limited edition Pirates of the Caribbean collection. The package also includes …

Blackbeard to Appear in Pirates of the Caribbean Rides at Disneyland and Magic Kingdom Park

Beginning May 20, just in time for the release of Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides, Captain Blackbeard (played by actor Ian McShane) will begin appearing on the ghostly waterfall in the grotto scenes of the Pirates of the Caribbean attractions at both Disneyland and Magic Kingdom Park.
In February, McShane himself appeared on a soundstage in Los Angeles to create the head shot that will appear in the attraction, and Walt Disney Imagineering writer Michael Sprout was on hand to help direct the photo shoot. He said that McShane …

Special Offers for Military Families Extended by Disney Parks

With a long-standing history of honor and commitment to the military, Disney Parks has taken it a step further and extended their special offers for military families until September 2012. All military personnel and their families, including active and retired military, as well as the National Guard members and Reservists, will be able to take advantage of special hotel and theme park rates.

Go Behind the Scenes of Beast’s Castle With Walt Disney Imagineers

Earlier this week, we shared with you our first official look at Beast’s Castle, which will be added as part of the planned Fantasyland expansionat Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom. Today, we are very excited to present even more photographs detailing the construction of the castle, as well as a technique Disney Imagineers are using called forced perspective, which makes the castle appear much larger than it actually is.

The Beast’s Castle Coming to Magic Kingdom Park

For those Disney fans who have been eagerly following the details of Disney’s Fantasyland expansion at Magic Kingdom Park, you’ll be happy to know that a brand new castle is currently under construction – Beast’s castle from the Disney classic Beauty and the Beast!
We’re getting our first official pictures of Beast’s castle, which will sit on top of the brand-new eatery, the Be Our Guest Restaurant. The restaurant is expected to be a gorgeously themed dining experience. Guests will dine in the castle’s ballroom, gallery and the mysterious “west wing.”
