Exclusive Sorcerer’s of the Magic Kingdom Card at Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party

If you’re planning to attend this year’s Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party this holiday season you’ll want to check out the party-exclusive Sorcerers of the Magic Kingdom card.
The card is inspired by Walt Disney’s Enchanted Tiki Room, and according to Disney’s backstory, “was whipped up by Merlin the Magician after he became enchanted with a quartet of caroling birds down in the tropics.”
Guests can visit the Firehouse on Main Street U.S.A. to pick up their party-exclusive card and to start playing Sorcerers of the Magic Kingdom with additional decks of …

New Welcome Show Coming to the Magic Kingdom in January

The Magic Kingdom is introducing a brand new opening moment beginning January 9, 2017.
On that date guests will be able to enter Main Street U.S.A. prior to the park’s scheduled opening time. Guests can visit the Main Street Bakery during this time and enjoy Main Street.
The new opening show will ‘officially’ open the park at the Castle Forecourt Stage at the official opening time.
The show will feature a Royal Herald with a proclamation and several Disney characters, opening the park each morning.

Main Street Electrical Parade Returns to Disneyland for a Limited Run on January 20

The Main Street Electrical Parade is returning to Disneyland on January 20 for a limited-time run.
The parade recently ended its run at the Magic Kingdom at the Walt Disney World Resort so that it could return to Disneyland.
The Disneyland run of the parade will last until June 18, which is 45 years after the parade first debuted on Main Street U.S.A.
During the parade’s run guests will have a chance to enjoy special merchandise and food inspired by the parade.

Tinker Bell Now Greeting Guests on Main Street U.S.A. at the Magic Kingdom

Everyone’s favorite pixie has found a new home at the Magic Kingdom.
Tinker Bell is now greeting guests inside Tinker Bell’s Magical Nook on Main Street, U.S.A., and there is some Disney magic at work during the meet-and-greet.
When guests enter the Garden Theater in the Town Square Theater they are magically shrunk down to fairy size – so they can fit inside Tink’s home.

Whimsical and Contemporary Festival of Fantasy Parade Debuts in March at the Magic Kingdom

The Disney Festival of Fantasy Parade is set to debut next month at the Magic Kingdom with 100 performers and brand new floats, all in a tribute to Fantasyland.
The parade is the first in a new generation of Disney Parks parades and includes new technology, a new musical score, and floats that are three stories tall.

Disney Legend Tony Baxter to be Honored with Window on Main Street USA

Last weekend, longtime Imagineer Tony Baxter was declared an official Disney Legend at the D23 Expo. However, that was not the only honor in store for the truly legendary Imagineer, as it was also revealed that weekend that Baxter would be receiving his own window on Disneyland’s Main Street, U.S.A.

Dapper Dans to Perform Boy Band Hits in New Limited Time Magic Event

Last week, we let you know about a new Limited Time Magic offering for Presidents Day at the Disney Parks, which featured special performances by the Voices of Liberty a capella group. Disney Legend Alice Davis to be Honored with Window on Disneyland’s Main Street U.S.A.

This week, it was announced that Disney Legend and Imagineer Alice Davis, who was responsible for the costume design of some of the most beloved Disney attractions, will be honored with one of the highest honors that a Disney employee can achieve: her own window on Main Street, USA. In a special ceremony held inside Disneyland’s Club 33, Imagineer Kim Irvine announced that Davis will receive her window on May 10.

Former Disney Executive ‘Bo’ Boyd Dies

On April 13, former Disney executive Barton K. “Bo” Boyd passed away in his home due to heart failure. He was 68 years old.
Growing up, Boyd was a member of a prominent Laguna Beach family, and worked hard studying at Orange Coast College and UC Irvine. After college, he applied to work at Disneyland and in 1968 began as an assistant supervisor on Main Street USA. His previous employer, Pottery Shack, tried to get Boyd to come back, but Disney recognized Boyd’s potential and offered him a raise and a …
