AquaDucky Derby on Board Disney Cruise Ships to Benefit Make-A-Wish International

The very first AquaDucky Derby rubber duck race happened recently in the pools and water coasters on Disney Cruise Line ships to benefit Make-a-Wish International.
Disney Cruise Line guests and crew decorated thousands of rubber ducks for the race. On the Disney Dream and Disney Fantasy the ducks were placed at the top of the AquaDuck and 10,000 gallons of water rushed into the water coaster, sending the ducks racing through the tunnel before reaching the finish line.

Last week, we told you about 4 year old cancer survivor McKenna May, who was denied a Make-A-Wish trip to Disney World because her father wouldn’t authorize the trip, sources said. The Make-A-Wish Foundation requires both parents to sign off on a sponsored trip, but May’s father believed that she shouldn’t benefit from the foundation’s support because she was cured.
However, May’s mother and grandmother were collecting donations from local businesses in order to fund the trip themselves, and the outpouring of help was more than they expected. On Friday, online …

He says:
What she’s been through sucks. But I think any money that the organization hands out to children, should go to dying kids. Not cured ones.
The Make-A-Wish Foundation, which grants a new wish every 38 minutes, has the two-parent signature …

500 rubber ducks were purchased for the race, which took place in the canal surrounding Disneyland’s It’s A Small World attraction. The boats were removed from the canal, and the 15-minute race was …
