Marvel Comics Creates Special Comic for Children’s Hospitals Around the Country

Marvel has created a special fold-out comic poster that will be distributed to almost 450 hospitals around the country.
Disney and Child Life Council have worked together since 2014 to provide these fold-out comic posters to be included in care packages for the hospitals. The comics have starred Iron Man and Captain America in the past.
This year’s comic features the Guardians of the Galaxy in a tale about friendship, camaraderie, and relying on others when in need of help. Marvel wanted to show that there’s no shame in needing help from …

Lucasfilm and Marvel to Publish ‘Star Wars’ Comics and Graphic Novels Beginning in 2015

The Walt Disney Company has announced that Lucasfilm Ltd. and Marvel Entertainment have joined together to publish Star Wars comics and graphic novels beginning in 2015.
Marvel Comics published the first Star Wars comic book – STAR WARS #1 – in March 1977, and published the series for nine years. Dark Horse Comics took over the publishing license in 1991.
In 2013, Dark Horse released The Star Wars #1, which was an adaptation of George Lucas’ original screenplay for the film. That comic currently is one of the top-selling Star Wars comics …

New ‘Toy Story’ Comics to Debut in 2012

Fans of comic books and Disney/Pixar’s Toy Story films will be in for a treat next year. This week, Marvel and Disney Publishing announced that all of our favorite Toy Story characters will be making their comic book debuts with the release of Toy Story issue #1.

Teaser Poster for ‘The Avengers’ Released

We haven’t talked about it here, but a lot of folks are. 
Next summer, make way for The Avengers, the superhero film that will unite Iron Man, Thor, and Captain America, among others.  With Captain America making a strong showing at the box office during this past weekend, fans of the Marvel Comics characters are even more excited to see this one come to the screen.

Marvel and Disney Publishing to Debut ‘Muppets’ Comic

If you can’t wait for the upcoming Muppets film to be reunited with your favorite characters, then mark your calendars for the release of Marvel and Disney Publishing’s Disney•Muppets Presents: Meet the Muppets, a gigantic comic featuring Kermit, Fozzy, Miss Piggy, Gonzo and the rest of the beloved Muppets gang.

Marvel Characters to Appear in Disney Parks? Sounds Likely.

At the blue carpet premier event for Disney’s highly-anticipated “World of Color” show in California Adventure Geoff Boucher, “Los Angeles Times” Entertainment blogger, asked Disney President & CEO Bob Iger if guests were going to see Marvel characters in the Disney Parks anytime soon. What was his answer? Managing to stay fairly neutral, Iger still revealed that it’s likely.

Disney Announces “Avengers” Series

Coming this fall to a TV near you, one of Disney’s first Marvel-ous lauches, the animated series: “The Avengers: Earth’s Mightiest Heroes.”
Word is that the show debut this Fall on Disney’s premier “boy channel” XD to “prime younger audiences for 2012’s live-action ‘Avengers.’” Disney Channel Entertainment President, Gary Marsh, said the network has been “pouring through the library of 7,000 Marvel characters looking for the next ‘Spider-Man.’”
Right now, the Avengers is slated for 26 episodes, and there’s no confirmation (but possibly there is hope) that Hulk and Spiderman might show …
