Marvel Announces Events for D23 Expo

Fans attending next month’s D23 Expo at the Anaheim Convention Center will have a chance to experience new events from Marvel.
The Marvel Studios Pavilion will feature “an array of props and costumes” from upcoming films including Thor: Ragnarok, Black Panther, and more.
Marvel Games will showcase a new console and mobile games including LEGO Marvel Super Heroes 2, Marvel v. Capcom: Infinite, Marvel Heroes Omega, and more.

Marvel Launches New Charitable Initiative ‘Marvel Studios: Hero Act’

Marvel Studios has launched a new charitable initiative that is focused on “brining help and hope to kids around the world.”
To celebrate the launch Marvel fans are invited to post photos online to unlock donations for Save the Children. The donations will help provide much-needed learning materials for kids in Nepal, Haiti, and United States.
From now until December 31, Marvel is donating $5 to Save the Children for every fan that uploads a photo of themselves in their favorite Marvel hero pose. The donations will total up to $1 million.

This Week in Disney News – Disney Springs Update, Disney Cruise Line News, and Marvel Movie News

We start this week’s news recap with some breaking overnight news from the Magic Kingdom.
Last night there was a small fire at the new Seven Dwarfs Mine Train in Fantasyland. According to published reports the fire presumably started after remnants from the nighttime fireworks display landed atop the ride. The Reedy Creek Fire Department was dispatched and quickly put out the flames. The ride reopened later in the evening. No one was injured.

Marvel Studios Reveals ‘Phase 3’ of the Marvel Cinematic Universe

Earlier this week fans of Marvel Studios were given a sneak peek at the films that will make up ‘Phase 3’ of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige revealed the films during a special event at the El Capitan Theatre in Hollywood.
Avengers: Age of Ultron and Ant-Man are the first two films in this next cinematic phase. They are scheduled to arrive in theaters on May 1, 2015 and July 17, 2015 respectively.

Production Begins on Marvel’s ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’

Filming has started on Marvel Studio’s next epic adventure, Guardians of the Galaxy.
The film – about a jet pilot who gets stranded in space and must unite with a diverse team of aliens to form a squad capable of defeating cosmic threats – will introduce fans to a new side of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

The 2013 San Diego Comic-Con was held this weekend, and, as usual, Marvel Studios did not disappoint as they presented their upcoming films to fans. ‘Iron Man 3′ Grosses $1 Billion Internationally

After having the second highest-grossing opening weekend of all time, Disney and Marvel’s Iron Man 3 earned a new box office distinction this week, as it was announced that the film has now grossed over $1 billion in ticket sales internationally.
Disney announced the milestone on Friday, only three weeks after the film was first released overseas. As of Friday, Iron Man 3 had grossed $302 million domestically after 14 days in theaters and $699 million overseas.

‘Iron Man 3′ Has Second-Highest Opening Weekend of All Time

This weekend brought the theatrical release of Iron Man 3 in the United States, and while it might not have beat out Marvel’s record-setting hit The Avengers at the box office, it got closer than any other film. It was announced on Sunday that Iron Man 3 took in $175.3 million at the box office in its opening weekend, becoming the second-highest opening weekend of all-time.
