While previously announced to be released only in 2D, Walt Disney Studios said last week that The Avengers will also be released in 3D when the movie debuts May 4, 2012.
The Avengers has a star-studded cast, including Samuel L. More details were revealed today about Marvel’s offerings at the upcoming D23 Expo, and it certainly looks like they will be pulling out all the stops. This will be Marvel Entertainment’s first time at the D23 Expo, with Disney having acquired the company in 2009. In partnership with Disney Publishing, Marvel is set to launch an all-new magazine featuring favorite Pixar characters this spring.
The monthly magazine will be titled Disney Pixar Presents. Rumors had been swirling about Demi Lovato starring in a new Marvel “Avengers” movie, however the Hollywood Reporter says that the Disney Channel star will not be in the movie. According to the article:
Sources inside Lovato’s camp as well as Marvel’s, however, said there was no truth to the rumor, denying across the board Lovato’s involvement. Part of the problem in hiring the actress is that she’s currently in rehab “for emotional and physical issues.”
