The Walt Disney Studios, ABC Television Earn Nominations from The Producers Guild of America

The Producers Guild of America (PGA) recently announced nominees for the 2014 PGA Awards, and both ABC and The Walt Disney Studios received nominations.
Ten films were nominated for the Guild’s Darryl F. Zanuck Award for Outstanding Producer of Theatrical Motion Pictures including Saving Mr. Banks (producers Ian Collie, Alison Owen, and Philip Steuer).
The last six Best Picture Oscar winners had previously won the PGA’s Darryl F. Zanuck award – which means if Saving Mr. Banks wins it has a good chance of winning again on Oscar night.

ABC to Launch TV Everywhere Streaming Video “Watch” App

ABC is already in the forefront of broadcast technology. They are the first network to sell episodes via iTunes as well as the first to offer free streaming videos on its website. Their upcoming “Watch” app would only confirm ABC’s lead over other networks in this particular oeuvre.
On Tuesday, the New York Times gave readers some details about a new app that Disney subsidiary ABC is preparing to launch. The app, known as a “Watch” app, would allow ABC subscribers to stream live video directly to their smartphone or iPad. …

Ricky Gervais Rumored to Star in ‘Muppets’ Sequel

Popular comedian Ricky Gervais is reportedly in talks to star in the Muppets sequel.
The sequel to the wildly successful 2011 film will begin production in January, and will feature plenty of cameo appearances. However, there are three main human roles – Gervais is in negotiations for the starring role, while Ty Burrell of Modern Family will play the part of an Interpol inspector.

‘Modern Family’ Takes Home Top Award at 64th Primetime Emmy Awards

Last night, television performers, writers, directors, and producers were honored for their achievements at the 64th Primetime Emmy Awards. Taking home the top award of Outstanding Comedy Series was the hit ABC show Modern Family, which took home more awards than any other comedy series.

Yesterday night, the efforts of those who work in all aspects of television production were recognized at the 2012 Creative Arts Primetime Emmy Awards ceremony. The Walt Disney Company and its various television networks did not leave empty-handed at the event, with Wizards of Waverly Place, Modern Family, Dancing with the Stars, and other popular shows honored at the prestigious awards ceremony.

ABC Announces Fall Television Premiere Dates

With August and the end of summer quickly approaching, we’re getting closer to the start of the fall television season, and ABC is gearing up for the season premieres of their new and returning shows. This week, ABC announced the schedule of their fall season and series premieres.

Star Sighting: ‘Modern Family’ Star Nolan Gould Visits Walt Disney World

This season, audiences will be able to see the entire Modern Family clan travel to Disneyland in an upcoming episode of the show, but one of the show’s stars was recently spotted spending some of his own vacation time at a Disney park as well. Actor Nolan Gould, who plays Luke Dunphy on Modern Family, was recently spotted taking some time off in Walt Disney World.

Star Sighting: Rico Rodriguez and Sister Visit Disneyland Park

Rico Rodriguez, one of the stars from the hit ABC series Modern Family, visited Disneyland Park with his sister Raini Rodriguez recently. The brother and sister visited the park with several friends and family members, and managed to take a spin on the Mad Tea Party attraction while they were there.
Rico remains hard at work on his hit series, while sister Raini will make her debut with the new Disney Channel series Austin & Ally. The new comedy will premiere December 4.

Disney Channel’s Original Movie ‘Geek Charming’ to Premiere November 11

It’s official – Disney Channel’s latest original movie, Geek Charming, will debut Friday, November 11 at 8/7c. The film is based off of the hit novel and will star Modern Family’s Sarah Hyland.
The movie will follow main character Dylan (played by Hyland), a snobby and very popular high school junior who agrees to be part of a documentary being made by Josh (played by Matt Prokop.) ‘Modern Family’ Earns Five Primetime Emmy Awards, Including Outstanding Comedy Series

Last night’s 2011 Primetime Emmy Awards broadcast honored some of the top shows and individuals on television, but no show made quite as much of a splash as the hit ABC series Modern Family. The show, whose third season will debut on Wednesday, September 21, took home five Primetime Emmy awards, the most of any series.
