Disney Channel Stars to Host Month-Long ‘Monstober’ Halloween Celebration

Stars of the Disney Channel series BUNK’D are set to host the network’s month-long Halloween celebration – Monstober.
This month-long programming event kicks off October 2 and includes the premiere of the Disney Channel Original Movie Invisible Sister.
Other events during Monstober include a Descendants Mal-oween marathon and Halloween-themed episodes of Disney Channels shows.
Throughout the month Disney Channel stars will swap series as guest stars on each other’s sitcoms and will make appearances at the same haunted house in New York City for the Central Park Spooktacular celebration. A masked mystery character …

ABC Family Announces Lineup for ’13 Nights of Halloween’ Programming Event

ABC Family’s annual 13 Nights of Halloween programming event kicks off Monday, October 19 and ends on Halloween night, October 31.
This year marks the 17th year for the programming event and includes a Halloween-themed episode of Stitchers in addition to the ABC Family premier of Sleepy Hollow starring Johnny Depp. Disney/Pixar’s Monsters University will also make its network premiere.
The lineup also includes back-to-back airings of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1 and Part 2 on October 19.

‘Frozen’ Named Best Animated Featured at 41st Annual Annie Awards

Disney’s animated blockbuster Frozen was named Best Animated Feature at this month’s 41st Annual Annie Awards.
The Annie Awards are considered a good predictor for which film will win the Academy Award for Best Animated Feature.
The awards honor excellence and individual achievement in 30 categories related to animated film including best feature, production, design, character animation, effects animation, writing, music, storyboarding, editing, and voice acting.

The Academy Award nominations are out and the Walt Disney Studios earned a total of eight nominations.

The Walt Disney Studios, ABC Television Earn Nominations from The Producers Guild of America

The Producers Guild of America (PGA) recently announced nominees for the 2014 PGA Awards, and both ABC and The Walt Disney Studios received nominations.
Ten films were nominated for the Guild’s Darryl F. Zanuck Award for Outstanding Producer of Theatrical Motion Pictures including Saving Mr. Banks (producers Ian Collie, Alison Owen, and Philip Steuer).
The last six Best Picture Oscar winners had previously won the PGA’s Darryl F. Zanuck award – which means if Saving Mr. Banks wins it has a good chance of winning again on Oscar night.

‘Frozen’ Glides past the $500 Million Mark at the Box Office

Disney’s animated hit Frozen broke the $500 million mark at the box office before the end of 2013, making it the fourth Disney film to reach that milestone last year.
The movie opened Thanksgiving weekend in the United States and has earned a hefty $250 million at the domestic box office since then. The other $250 million has come from the international box office. That means the $500 million box office total was earned in just six weeks.

The Walt Disney Studios Set another Company Record with 2013 Domestic Box Office Results

Despite a slight bump in the road thanks to a certain masked ranger, this year has been a rather great year for The Walt Disney Studios.
Earlier this month, the Studios set yet another company record when it reached an all-time high at the domestic box office breaking the previous record of $1.547 billion set in 2012.
The domestic box office record means the Studio was a triple threat this year, breaking records internationally, globally, and domestically.

Walt Disney Studios Breaks $4 Billion at Global Box Office for the First Time in Studio History

For the first time in its history, The Walt Disney Studios broke the $4 billion mark at the global box office.
Earlier in November, the Studio had announced it surpassed the $3.791 billion mark that it set back in 2010. This year’s results have been driven by the success of Marvel’s Iron Man 3 which earned $1.21 billion making it the fifth highest grossing film ever.
