Tokyo Disney Resort to Undergo a 10-Year Expansion Beginning in 2015

Starting next spring the Tokyo Disney Resort will begin a 10-year expansion of both Tokyo Disneyland and Tokyo Disney Sea.
The announcement of the expansion was made by the Oriental Land Company as part of their 500 billion yen investment in the theme parks.
The project includes a new and expanded Fantasyland at Tokyo Disneyland, nearly doubling the size of the theme park. New attractions, restaurants, and shops are also planned for the park.

‘Toy Story Mania’ Attraction to Open at Tokyo Disneyland Resort

The Oriental Land Company, Ltd., which owns and operates the Tokyo Disneyland Resort, announced this week that the popular attraction “Toy Story Mania!” will soon be making its way to Japan. Currently operating in both Walt Disney World and Disneyland, the attraction is based on Disney/Pixar’s Toy Story franchise. The 3D attraction, which will be the first of its kind at the resort, will be located in the Tokyo DisneySea theme park.

Officials Say Tokyo Disneyland to Re-Open in April

Since the horrific earthquake and tsunami that struck Japan on March 12,  Tokyo Disneyland and DisneySea have been closed to the public. The operator of both parks, the Oriental Land Company, has now said they expect both parks to be re-opened sometime in April.
Neither park sustained more than minor damage during the devastating quake, but frequent rolling blackouts had prevented the parks from functioning normally. Now, officials are considering which options to take regarding power usage when the parks do eventually re-open. Sources say park officials are considering closing the parks …
