Fallen Backpack Causes Evacuation on Disney California Adventure Rollercoaster

Popular Disney California Adventure attraction California Screamin’ experienced some technical difficulties yesterday afternoon, when a rider’s backpack fell out of a ride vehicle and onto the rollercoaster’s track. The fallen object caused the attraction to come to an automatic stop.
No injuries or collisions were reported, Disney assures, but twenty four guests were evacuated from the ride. Firefighters had to remove the riders, whose ride vehicle was stuck at the bottom of a loop on the coaster. Riders were taken off the ride one at a time by the 20 fire …

New Ride, Shops and Restaurants Will Revamp Disney California Adventure’s Paradise Pier this Summer

The renovation and expansion of Disney California Adventure is still underway, and Goofy’s Sky School, several new restaurants and a unique souvenir shop will complete the Paradise Pier transformation Summer 2011. Another new ride, The Little Mermaid: Ariel’s Undersea Adventure, will also debut this summer on June 3.
Goofy’s Sky School, which takes the spot of the former Mulholland Madness coaster, will take visitors through flying lessons conducted by Goofy himself. Guests will soar through the clouds on over 1200 feet of track, enjoying the lovable and often zany antics of …

Behind-the-Scenes Look at Disney California Adventure’s Cars Land

Construction crews have been hard at work renovating Disney California Adventure in time for the opening of The Little Mermaid – Ariel’s Undersea Adventure on June 3, and the revamped Paradise Pier July 1 – but the upcoming Cars Land has been given a lot of attention, too!

‘Goofy’s Sky School’ Opening Date Postponed

Originally,  Goofy’s Sky School, one of the new attractions set to open at Disney California Adventure Park, was slated to open June 3. Now, sources say the attraction’s opening date has been postponed until July 1.
Since October, crews have been working to transform the previous site of Mulholland Madness into the new ride, but John McClintock, a Disney Resort spokesman, said that “Goofy needs a little more flight training.” As of this writing, another new attraction – The Little Mermaid: Ariel’s Undersea Adventure will still open June 3.

New Menu Offerings to Debut at Disney California Adventure

Yesterday, we told you about the Paradise Pier renovation at Disney California Adventure park. Part of the renovation, which will be completed July 1, includes new restaurants and new menu offerings for visitors to enjoy.
A returning favorite, Boardwalk Pizza & Pasta, will feature a delicious new menu with plenty of flatbreads, pastas’ and salads for hungry visitors. Paradise Pier Renovation at Disney California Adventure to be Complete July 1

We’ve kept you informed about all of the renovations Paradise Pier has been undergoing at Disney California Adventure park, and I am pleased to announce that the renovations will be complete July 1!
Goofy’s Sky School will debut June 3, as well as another new attraction: The Little Mermaid – Ariel’s Undersea Adventure. Additionally, two brand new dining locations will be coming to the pier.  An old favorite, Boardwalk Pizza and Pasta, will be returning, as will Corn Dog Castle, a popular dining location, which is set to open July 1.

‘Goofy’s Sky School’ to Open June 3 at Disney California Adventure

Disney California Adventure’s expansioncontinues to move along at a fast pace, and one of the largest attractions, Goofy’s Sky School, will have its debut June 3!
Previously the site of Mulholland Madness, the renovated roller coaster will showcase Goofy as a pilot attempting to teach novice pilots how to fly. The ride is based on the 1940 cartoon Goofy’s Glider.

Blue Sky Cellar Adds ‘Little Mermaid’ Attraction Preview

Guests of Disney’s California Adventure will have an opportunity to view some upcoming magic, as Walt Disney Imagineering Blue Sky Cellar opened a new exhibit today.
Fans will get a first chance glance at “The Little Mermaid – Ariel’s Undersea Adventure,” the next significant attraction slated for opening at the newly renovated park.  In addition to new models and concept drawings, guests can see:

an artist’s rendering of the hand-painted mural that will cover the wall adjacent to the loading area, which will be 86-feet long;

Disney Californina Adventure to Begin Entrance Transformation in January

We previously brought you news that the iconic C-A-L-I-F-O-R-N-I-A letters, which greet guests at the entrance of Disney California Adventure, would be retired starting January 4.  Now, according to the LA Times, Disney is providing more detail about the massive changes coming to the park in the upcoming months.
The 16-month project will transform the park from breezy California style to the golden age of Hollywood – the time when Walt Disney first came to Los Angeles.  And in order to accomplish the $1.1 billion makeover, crews will wall off four acres …

Disneyland’s Maliboomer to be Removed as Part of Paradise Pier Renovation

If you’re a fan of the Maliboomer on Paradise Pier in Disney’s California Adventure, be sure to get your fix before September 6. ABC News reports that the thrill ride will be removed from Disneyland as part of the renovation of Paradise Pier.
The ride takes guests 180 feet into the air and then drops them back down again. According to ABC News:
