New Photo Capture Coming to Pirates of the Caribbean

A new PhotoPass photo capture is coming to Pirates of the Caribbean at the Magic Kingdom starting June 19.
Guests on Pirates of the Caribbean will have their photo captured by PhotoPass as they exit the haunted grotto and enter the world of pirates.
The photo will be available for viewing on the My Disney Experience app and via MyDisneyPhotoPass.com.
In order to preview, purchase and download the attraction photo guests must be wearing their MagicBand. The photo will be linked to the guests’ My Disney Experience account.

Pirate-Themed PhotoPass Options Available at Disney Parks

This weekend marks the arrival in theaters of Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales, and guests at the Disney Parks can be part of the swashbuckling fun!
PhotoPass photographers around Walt Disney World Resort and Disneyland Resort will be taking pirate-themed photos for guests.
Wherever you see a PhotoPass photographer be sure to stop and say “ahoy!” to get your own pirate-themed photos. You might even see a few characters in their buccaneer best!

New Pirate-Themed Exhibit Announced for D23 Expo 2017

A new pirate-themed exhibit has been announced for the 2017 D23 Expo at the Anaheim Convention Center.
The exhibit, ‘Walt Disney Archives Presents – A Pirate’s Life for me: Disney’s Rascals, Scoundrels, and Really Bad Eggs,’ is a 12,000 square foot exhibit that celebrates some of Disney’s most popular pirates.
The exhibit will feature artwork, attraction vehicles, Audio-Animatronics® figures, and more.
Some of the items in the exhibit include: concept art from Peter Pan, artwork from Treasure Island, Pirates of the Caribbean Audio-Animatronics® figures from the Disneyland attraction, a pirate ship from Peter …

Pirates of the Caribbean Celebrates 50 Years this Weekend at Disneyland

This weekend marks the 50th anniversary of Pirates of the Caribbean at Disneyland and the celebration starts March 16.
Guests will have a chance to nosh on pirate-themed food at French Market Restaurant, Mint Julep Bar, Harbour Galley, Royal Street Verandah, Café Orleans, and the Blue Bayou Restaurant.
Specialty food items include gold-dusted churros, a Buccaneer Pulled Pork Sandwich, Lost Treasure Beignets, Jolly Roger Punch, and Calypso’s Caribbean Chicken Stew.

Ultimate Disney Classics VIP Tour Announced at the Magic Kingdom

There’s a new VIP tour at the Magic Kingdom giving guests the chance to experience VIP treatment and some of the most popular attractions at the theme park.
The Ultimate Disney Classics VIP Tour is a 4-hour tour led by Disney VIP Tour Guides. While on the tour guests have the chance to experience up to 10 attractions including Pirates of the Caribbean, Jungle Cruise, it’s a small world, Peter Pan’s Flight, and more.
The tour also includes a meet-and-greet with Mickey Mouse.

Pirate’s Adventure Game at Magic Kingdom Adds New Reward for Guests

Guests playing the Pirate’s Adventure – Treasures of the Seven Seas game at the Magic Kingdom have a new incentive for finishing the game.
The Pirate’s Adventure game now has Collector Cards as a reward. Once players complete a pirate raid they can return to Pirate Headquarters and claim their reward.
In the Pirate’s Adventure game guests are turned into recruits for Captain Jack and then embark on one of five different raids in Adventureland.
Guests must collect valuable treasures and fend off enemies including Captain Barbosa and the Royal Navy.

New ‘Haunted Mansion’ Children’s Book Part of New Series from Disney Publishing

There’s a new children’s book coming from Disney Publishing that is all about the Haunted Mansion.
The book is part of the ‘Disney Parks Presents’ series from Disney Publishing – and the series isn’t just books. The picture books also come with CDs and original artwork based on popular Disney Parks rides and attractions.
Basically fans can relive their favorite attractions at home thanks to this new series.

New Designs Available at Retail MagicBand on Demand Stations at Walt Disney World Resort

If you’re making plans to visit the MagicBand on Demand stations at Walt Disney World Resort there are a few new designs from which to choose.
New designs include Beauty and the Beast, Duffy the Disney Bear, and ShellieMay. Guests visiting Disney Springs will find two designs by Jerrod Maruyama.
Haunted Mansion fans will want to check out the four new designs inspired by the attraction, and there are also several new designs inspired by attractions in the Magic Kingdom including classics such as Mr. Toad’s Wild Ride.

New Vinylmation Movieland Series Debuts at Disney Parks

A brand new Vinylmation series has arrived at the Disney Parks.
The Movieland Series 1 is a limited-release mystery series featuring right figures – seven “known designs” and one “mystery chaser” figure.
The Vinylamtion in this series are presented in a box that is inspired by vintage movie ads.
The Movieland Series 1 includes characters from The Rocketeer, Captain Jack Sparrow from Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest, the Shaggy Dog, V.I.N.Cent from The Black Hole, and the robot diver from 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea.
Two other figures are Tron and Condorman.

This Week in Disney News – ‘Frozen 2′, Pirates of the Caribbean Closure, and a New Name for Disney’s Hollywood Studios

It’s been a whirlwind of big Disney news this week so let’s dive right in!
Disney announced the official kickoff for summer is happening May 22 on both coasts! The Magic Kingdom is hosting a 24-hour event during Memorial Day weekend to start the “Coolest Summer Ever.”
The ‘Coolest Summer Ever’ will include Frozen Summer Fun LIVE at Disney’s Hollywood Studios from June 17 through September 7, Star Wars Weekends from May 15 through June 14, plus the opening of several new restaurants and shops at Downtown Disney.
