Pixar and Walt Disney Animation Studios Announce Upcoming Film Slate at D23 Expo

Walt Disney and Pixar Animation Studios announced the upcoming animated film slate at the D23 Expo on Friday.
The first film slated for release is Coco which arrives in theaters on November 22.
The film tells the story of Miguel, an aspiring musician whose family has banned music. Miguel finds himself in the Land of the Dead where he meets “charming trickster” Hector, and the duo sets off on a journey to find the story behind Miguel’s family history.

‘The Music of Pixar Live!’ Coming to Disney’s Hollywood Studios this Summer

A new limited-time concert is coming to Disney’s Hollywood Studios this summer – ‘The Music of Pixar Live! A Symphony of Characters.’
This new live concert debuts May 26 and will feature music from Pixar Animation Studios films, a live orchestra, and visits by popular Disney/Pixar characters.
The Music of Pixar Live! will be performed three times nightly at the Theater of the Stars at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. The daytime performances of Beauty and the Beast Live on Stage will continue during daytime hours.

Pixar Theme Announced for 2017 Disneyland Half Marathon Weekend

The 2017 runDisney Disneyland Half Marathon Weekend will feature a Pixar theme, celebrating some of the most popular Pixar films and characters.
The Disneyland Half Marathon will feature a Toy Story theme, while the Disneyland Double Dare will celebrate Pixar Animation Studios.
Monsters University is the theme of the Disneyland 10K with host Mike and Sulley, while the Disneyland 5K theme is The Incredibles.
And the runDisney Kids Races will celebrate Up.

Pixar Party Trading Event Announced for Walt Disney World Resort in August

Disney has recently announced the Pixar Party Trading Event to celebrate 30 years of Pixar Animation Studios.
The Trading Event will take place August 26-27 at the World ShowPlace in Epcot. Registration for the event opens April 28. The event will celebrate all things Pixar including films, shorts, stories from the Vault, and more.
Each attendee will receive vouchers to use for trading board experiences and guests will have a chance to trade at the boards a designated number of times during the two-day event.

Walt Disney Animation Studios Announces Lineup for D23 Expo

The 2015 D23 Expo in Anaheim is just a couple months away and the Walt Disney Animation Studios recently announced its lineup of events.
On Friday, August 14 fans can attend ‘Every Story is a Journey: The Upcoming Films of Walt Disney and Pixar Animation Studios.’ This event is a must-see at each Expo and is once again hosted by John Lasseter, the chief creative officer of Walt Disney and Pixar Animation Studios.

Pixar Animation Studios is Developing ‘Cars 3’ and a Sequel to ‘The Incredibles’

Lightning McQueen and Mr. Incredible are headed back to the big screen.
It was announced at this week’s annual meeting of The Walt Disney Company shareholders and D23 Members that Pixar Animation Studios is developing a third installment in the Cars franchise in addition to a sequel to Brad Bird’s The Incredibles.
The original Cars was released in 2006 while the sequel, Cars 2, was released in 2011. Disneytoon Studios released a spinoff – Planes – last year. This summer, Planes: Fire & Rescue hits the big screen.

Pixar Lays off Employees Due to the Delay of ‘The Good Dinosaur’

Pixar Animation Studios has laid off nearly 5 percent of its 1,200 person workforce due to delays on the studio’s next feature, The Good Dinosaur.
The layoffs affect close to 60 people related to the project at the studio’s Emeryville, California headquarters.
The Good Dinosaur was originally scheduled for a May 30, 2014 release date, but that was pushed back to November 25, 2015 earlier this fall. Prior to the delay of the project, Pixar removed director Bob Peterson from the project. No replacement has been named as director.

New Concept Art Released for Pixar’s ‘The Blue Umbrella’

While we can’t wait for the release of Monsters University in theaters this summer, we’re also incredibly excited for the Pixar Short that will air before it, The Blue Umbrella.
