New Disney Pixar “Cars Toons” Shorty Shorts Debut on Disney.com

There are three brand new Disney Pixar “Cars Toons” Shorty Shorts now live on Disney.com and Cars.Disney.com. Dubbed “Shorty Shorts” because they are all only 90 seconds long or less, each spot offers an entertaining view into the world of Cars. Directed by Jeremy Lasky and produced by Mary Alice Drumm, Disney Pixar “Cars Toons” feature some of our favorite characters in new and surprising situations.

New ‘Brave’ Posters Released this Week

Disney Pixar is debuting four new Brave posters this week, according to our friends at Big Screen Animation.  The new art features an individual shot of Merida (reminiscent of a pose we saw released in February), Merida’s parents, Various of the Clan leaders, and adorable triplets Hamish, Hubert, and Harris.
Brave is due in theaters this summer.

New Extended Trailer and Poster Released for ‘Brave’

This week, Disney and Pixar brought us a brand-new look at their upcoming film Brave with the release of a brand-new poster and trailer for the film. The poster features the film’s star, Princess Merida, a Scottish princess who is unhappy with the path of marriage that she is expected to follow.

More Classic Disney and Pixar Re-Releases Coming in 2012 and 2013

Who can argue with success?
Following on the heels of the extraordinary popularity of Disney’s recent theatrical re-release of its classic animated feature The Lion King, the company has announced that it plans more of the same for some of its biggest films over the next two years.

Unkrich Begins Work on Next Project with Promise to Keep Fans in the Loop

Lee Unkrich, director of some of Pixar’s most memorable films, is hard at work on his next project.
No word whether it’s the highly conceptual “trip inside the mind,” untitled and scheduled for release in 2014 or possibly even the next installment in the Toy Story franchise, but he promises to keep fans abreast of the progress.  Yesterday morning, he tweeted about the updates:  “Today is day one on my next project. Star Sighting:  Brad Garrett Visits Disneyland with Family

Brad Garrett, actor and the voice behind many of Disney’s most beloved supporting characters of late, recently visited Disneyland Park with his family.  Garrett posed for a picture in front of the Finding Nemo Submarine Voyage at Disneyland – an attraction that features Bloat, the blowfish that he voiced for Finding Nemo!
Garrett has brought characters to life in Tangled (Hook Hand, the world famous concert pianist!) and Ratatouille‘s floating ghost of a chef, Gusteau.  Next, he’ll be featured in Planes,a Disney animated feature that draws inspiration from the Disney Pixar …

Pixar Postage Stamps Now Available

Addressing that letter and mailing it just got slightly more enjoyable.
Originally announced late last year, United States postage stamps depicting characters from Pixar films went on sale last Friday.  The US Postal Service states that it has printed is printing 200 million stamps to meet the anticipated demand from consumers and collectors alike.

Tom Hanks Confirms More Toy Story to Come – in Two Separate Interviews

We may not have seen the last of Woody and the Gang.  Yippee!
Recently, Tom Hanks was interviewed by the BBC regarding the release of his latest film, Larry Crowne.  As the subject came around to Toy Story, the interviewer asked if Hanks’ new granddaughter would get to see a fourth installment to the critically acclaimed and wildly popular Disney Pixar franchise.  Hanks’ response:
“I think there will be, yeah. Yeah, yeah. I think they’re working on it now,”

“Toy Story 3” Number One on DVD, Blu-Ray Charts

In its first week after release, “Toy Story 3”topped Nielson’s DVD and Blu-Ray Charts by a better-than-healthy margin, beating out its next new release competitor by nearly 10 to 1.  Home Media Magazine also reports that “Toy Story 3” is tops on its rental chart.
But perhaps most interesting:  Blu-Ray finally seems to be catching up with DVD sales, as packages featuring the combination of DVD/Blu-Ray discs accounted for 33% of the total units sold in the first week.
While it is too soon to tell for sure, early numbers indicate that Blu-Ray sales …
