Season Two of Disney Channel’s ‘Sofia the First’ Debuts on March 7

The second season of Disney Channel’s hit animated series Sofia the First debuts Friday, March 7.
This second season will include special appearances by Disney Princesses Mulan, Tiana, and Rapunzel and each will be voiced by the stars who provided their voices in their original films – Ming-Na Wen (Mulan), Disney Legend Anika Noni Rose (The Princess and the Frog), and Mandy Moore (Tangled).

Disneyland Park Prepares for ‘New Orleans Bayou Bash’

As part of their “Limited Time Magic”  event, Disneyland park will be bringing a party to New Orleans Square – the New Orleans Bayou Bash, to be exact!
The bash will be held from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on January 18-21, January 25-27, February 1-3 and and February 8-12. Plenty of exciting entertainment and meet-and-greet opportunities are available during this party, including:

ABC’s ‘Once Upon a Time’ Adds New Cast Member

ABC’s hit series Once Upon a Time has added a new cast member to the mix, and many are speculating that it could be another Disney princess.
The network has hired Sonequa Martin-Green to play Tamara, described as “a charming and likable woman who’s secretly highly ambitious and a fearless leader driven to get what she wants.” Media reports are speculating that this sounds an awful lot like Princess Tiana from Disney’s The Princess and the Frog, but Disney is remaining mum on who Tamara’s fairy-tale alter ego actually is.

Two New Specialty Rooms Coming to Walt Disney World Resort

Princess Tiana to Perform in Disneyland’s New Orleans Square

Princess Tiana from Disney’s “The Princess and the Frog” is scheduled to perform at the New Orleans Square in Disneyland next week. The show, which begins Feb. 5, is called “Princess Tiana’s Mardi Gras Celebration”.
This decision is apparently in response to positive reviews of “Tiana’s Showboat Jubilee,” which started in November 2009 in Disneyland. The “Mark Twain Riverboat” hosted the show which features over thirty performers dressed in vintage Mardi Gras costumes. Does Disney Need A Disabled Princess?

Disney’s new animated film “The Princess and the Frog” features the first black princess in the Disney pantheon. Some suggest that Disney has not gone far enough in its pursuit of diversity. Does Disney’s lack of a disabled princess represent an insensitivity to that segment of the population?
According to Oona King, a former MP and Gordon Brown’s senior policy adviser on equalities and diversity this oversight is a serious issue. The Telegraph quotes her as saying:
