Disney Parks Presenting an ‘it’s a small world’ Google+ Hangout with Disney Legend Richard Sherman

The 50th anniversary celebration of ‘it’s a small world’ just got a little more magical.
Disney Parks has announced that on April 10 at 1 p.m. PT they’ll be hosting a Google+ Hangout On Air event with Disney Legend Richard Sherman.
The event will be live from Disneyland and fans have a chance to appear in the hangout by tweeting their questions to @Disneyland with the hashtag #SmallWorldHangout.
Fans who want to join in the event can RSVP for the event, submit their questions for Richard Sherman, and they can watch the event …

Disney Interactive Launches Online Animated Series ‘it’s a small world: the animated series’

Disney Interactive has launched a new online series it’s a small world: the animated series inspired by the Disney Parks attraction.
The series is sponsored by Rosetta Stone and features eight episodes that introduce families to unique words and customs from around the world.
This animated series features original music from Richard Sherman, the legendary songwriter behind the attraction’s theme song. The animation is inspired by Disney artist Mary Blair’s original designs from the attraction.

‘Saving Mr. Banks’ Begins Production in Los Angeles

Over the past few months, we’ve been letting you know about some of the exciting casting choices for Disney’s upcoming drama Saving Mr. Banks. Now, we’re excited to let you know that this highly anticipated film has finally begun production.

More Casting Announced for ‘Saving Mr. Banks’

This week, Disney announced some additional casting for their upcoming film Saving Mr. Banks, which is set to star Tom Hanks as Walt Disney and Emma Thompson as P.L. Travers in the tale of their negotiations in bringing Mary Poppins to the screen. Paul Giamatti, Jason Schwartzmann, and Ruth Wilson have joined the film’s cast in supporting roles.

Disney Songwriter Robert Sherman Passes Away at 86

Disney songwriter Robert Sherman, who penned the well-known and beloved tunes like “It’s A Small World After All” and “Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious,” has passed away at the age of 86.
Throughout his career, Sherman collected a wealth of prestigious awards, including two Academy Awards, a Grammy, and many nominations. In 1976, with his brother Richard Sherman (known together as The Sherman Brothers,) he received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
