Celebrate Spring with Special Merchandise Events at the Disneyland Resort

The Disneyland Resort is getting ready to celebrate the Disney California Adventure Food & Wine Festival, which kicks off Friday, April 1.
And this year’s event will feature some commemorative merchandise including apparel, hats, glassware, dishes, and aprons. Passholders can also purchase a special T-shirt.
Artist Ann Shen will be at the WonderGround Gallery on April 2-3, April 23-24, and May 1 from 2-5 p.m. each day.

Walt Disney World Resort Announces March Merchandise Events

March 1 is just a few days away and that means there’s a whole new slate of special merchandise events planned at the Walt Disney World Resort.
Over at Epcot, fan favorite artist Larry Dotson is stopping by the Art of Disney on March 2 through March 6 and again from March 17 through March 20. Also on March 2-6, guests can stop by La Signature in the France pavilion to see the newest fragrances from Guerlain.

Disneyland Resort Announces March 2015 Merchandise Events

February has flown by and with March almost upon us Disneyland Resort has just announced its lineup of special merchandise events for the month.
On March 7 Disney Ink & Paint artists will be on hand at Disneyana for a special signing and artist showcase. A new limited-edition Ink & Paint cel ‘Jungle High Jinks’ will be available in a number of formats. This cel can also be pre-ordered through March 31.

March 2014 Merchandise Events Planned for the Walt Disney World Resort

The Walt Disney World Resort has a great lineup of merchandise events planned for March, but the biggest event is the 2014 Epcot International Flower & Garden Festival.
The festival starts March 5 and runs through May 18 and features topiaries, gardens, Outdoor Kitchens, and more. And of course there is the festival-specific merchandise including topiary-inspired garden artwork, a special edition Duffy the Disney Bear, and “revealed/concealed” Vinylmation.

March 2014 Merchandise Events Announced for Disneyland Resort

March is coming in like a lion at the Disneyland Resort with a full slate of merchandise events planned for the month.
On March 1 guests can stop by the WonderGround Gallery in the Downtown Disney District to meet artists Jasmine Becket-Griffith, Noah, Kristin Tercek, and Gregg Visintainer from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m.
Also on March 1 and 2, Jere Dean from Urban Octopus will be at WonderGround Gallery from 1-4 p.m. each day, and again from March 8-9, showcasing the latest artwork of Urban Octopus.

National Literacy Month Highlights: Disney VoluntEARS Read to Children and Ridley Pearson Book Signing

To help celebrate literacy during National Literacy Month / School Library Month, crew members from Disney Cruise ships visited and read to children in Nassau, Grand Cayman, and St. Thomas. This project was part of the Disney Reading Together program, which was started 10 years ago and has since promoted reading and literacy. Through the program, cast members visit schools to read to children, and more than 7,000 books have so far been given to communities in the Bahamas and the Caribbean through the program.

Gary Ross Signs On to Direct Disney’s ‘Peter and the Starcatchers’

In May, we told you about Disney’s plans to produce a film adaptation of Dave Barry and Ridley Pearson’s novel Peter and the Starcatchers, which delves into the back story of beloved character Peter Pan.
Now, Disney has hired Hunger Games director Gary Ross to helm the adaptation. After dropping out of the Hunger Games franchise, Ross has been eying several projects but it looks like he’s finally settled on Disney’s movie.
There has been no word yet on when production will start, but we will be sure to keep you updated …

Disney to Create Film Adaptation of ‘Peter and the Starcatchers’

Disney has hired Jesse Wigutow to adapt a screenplay for the best-selling children’s novel Peter and the Starcatchers, according to sources. The novel was also the inspiration for the current Broadway play Peter and the Starcatcher, which has garnered nine Tony award nominations.
The novel, co-authored by Dave Barry and Ridley Pearson, introduces us to the back story of the beloved character Peter Pan. It’s the first in a series of books by the authors.
Wigutow’s current work includes the film adaptation for Osterman Weekend, which is currently in development.
