New Rivers of America Collectible Cards Hunt Now at Disneyland

Rivers of America is reopening this summer at Disneyland and to celebrate there’s a new “collectible card hunt.”
Our friends at the Disney Food Blog first shared this information and we had to share it too!
The new Rivers of America Collectible Cards Hunt starts with a stop at a Card Distribution Center which are located in Frontierland, Adventureland, and New Orleans Square.
The first set of cards celebrate the Pirate’s Lair on Tom Sawyer Island.
Each card features info about the attraction and when you collect all six they form a pirate’s map.

Fantasmic!, Rivers of America, and the Disneyland Railroad Reopen this Summer at Disneyland

Several Disneyland attractions are returning this summer.
Fantasmic! reopens on July 17, in time to celebrate the park’s 62nd anniversary. The nighttime spectacular will feature its original fanfare and theme song in addition to new mist screens, state-of-the-art projections, and new scenes including Aladdin and The Lion King.
The Rivers of America attractions including Pirate’s Lair on Tom Sawyer Island, Mark Twain Riverboat, Sailing Ship Columbia, and Davy Crockett Explorer Canoes are all reopening this summer.

The Week in Disney News: Pandora News, Guardians of the Galaxy Attraction News, and More

It’s official! Pandora – The World of Avatar opened May 27 at Disney’s Animal Kingdom. We have some news about the new land and much more in today’s weekly recap.
Disney hosted the official dedication for Pandora – The World of Avatar on May 24 with CEO Bob Iger and Avatar director James Cameron in attendance.
Guests visiting Pandora can check out the merchandise location Windtraders for an immersive experience – and to get matched with their very own banshee. And speaking of merchandise, guests will find three Pandora-themed MagicBands.

Rivers of American and Disneyland Railroad to Reopen this Summer at Disneyland

The Disneyland Railroad and Rivers of American attractions are scheduled to reopen this summer at Disneyland.
The area was reimagined and the north bank of the Rivers of America will now feature a new waterfront and elevate trestle for the Disneyland Railroad.
The Rivers of America celebrates the Mississippi, Columbia, Missouri and Rio Grande rivers and now also features a new Columbia Gorge section with waterfalls.
In all, five new waterfalls along Rivers of America will be visible from the Mark Twain Riverboat, Sailing Ship Columbia, and Davy Crockett Explorer Canoes.

Fantasmic! Set to Return to Disneyland this Summer

Fantasmic! is returning to Disneyland this summer.
The popular show debuted 25 years ago at Disneyland’s Rivers of America and when it returns this summer it will feature its original “fanfare and theme song” with some added magic.
The updated Fantasmic! will feature new mist screens that us state-of-the-art projection technology for “brighter and more vibrant visuals.”
New scenes have been added to the show too, including Aladdin and Jasmine floating over fog on the magic carpet in a scene from Aladdin.
Fantasmic! returns to Disneyland this summer.

Disneyland’s Rivers of America and Disneyland Railroad to Reopen in Summer of 2017

The Disneyland Railroad and Rivers of America is slated to reopen in the summer of 2017.
The area has been closed for refurbishment and when it reopens the attractions along the Rivers of America will include: Fantasmic!, Mark Twain Riverboat and Sailing Ship Columbia, Pirate’s Lair on Tom Sawyer Island, and Davy Crockett Explorer Canoes.
When the area reopens next year the Rivers of America riverbank will be new and the area will feature an elevated trestle for the Disneyland Railroad.
Guests can currently stop by Main Street and New Orleans Square train …

The Week in Disney News – More Closings at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, New Acts in ‘La Nouba’, and More

Happy middle of the month! We’re getting through this together, right? It was another week full of Disney news so let’s dive right in.
We all knew it was coming – the inevitable announcement of closings at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. The iconic Earffel Tower is coming down and it’s time to say goodbye to Lights! Motor! Action! and the Studio Catering Company.
As sad as all of that might be we have to look at the bigger picture – eventually we’ll be able to enjoy Toy Story Land and Star Wars Land. …

New Look for Disneyland’s Rivers of America Revealed

Disneyland’s Rivers of America is getting a facelift.
The expansion project at Disneyland for the new 14-acre Star Wars land is scheduled to begin very soon.
And as part of the expansion, Frontierland will get a new waterfront area along the north bank of the Rivers of America.
The new riverbank will feature an elevated trestle for the Disneyland Railroad while the Pirate’s Lair on Tom Sawyer Island is surrounded by the river. Walt Disney Imagineering recently released artwork of the updated Rivers of America area.

Disneyland Changes Entertainment Schedule

Now that spring break has come to a close, Disneyland has changed their entertainment and fireworks schedule. Instead of being held daily when tourists flocked to the theme park, the “Remember Dreams Come True” fireworks spectacular will now be held on weekends only.
The summer fireworks show called “Magical” will return next month, with nightly shows resuming in June.
After this week, the nightly Fantasmic! water show alongside Disneyland’s Rivers of America will change to a weekends-only schedule. Meanwhile, Disney California Adventure has seen the departure of ElecTRONica this past Sunday. There …

Disneyland Closes Several Attractions to Prepare for ‘Pirates’ Premiere

In anticipation of next week’s Disneyland premiere of Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides, which takes place May 7, Disneyland park has closed several attractions to prepare for the star-studded event.
Work crews are already building a screen and seating area along Rivers of America for the outdoor premiere event, and five attractions were closed on Monday, including Sailing Ship Columbia, Mark Twain Riverboat, Tom Sawyer’s Island, Davy Crockett’s Explorer Canoes, and the Fantasmic! show. The attractions will remain closed until May 12, and Fantasmic! will reopen May 14.
