Disneyland Removes Fantasmic Dragon after Malfunction

Anyone who has seen Fantasmic in the past year is bound to remember the 45-foot-tall, 18,000-pound dragon that ominously breaths fire while swinging its head wildly over the Rivers of America stage. Sleeping Beauty’s notorious villain Maleficent transforms into the beast, but after an incident this past weekend the dragon may have been defeated by “technical difficulties” indefinitely. Disneyland officials are being vague about the malfunction but claim to be working on the issue.

“The dragon in Fantasmic experienced a technical issue last Saturday night,” wrote Disney spokeswoman Betsy Sanchez. …

Walt Disney World Crowns 2010 Cast Member Canoe Racing Champs

Dating back to a Disneyland tradition from 1963, every morning strong and dedicated Disney Cast Members arrive pre-dawn at the Magic Kingdom for one month to participate in Walt Disney World’s “Canoe Races of the World (C.R.O.W.).” The friendly competition first made it’s way over to Walt Disney World in 1973 showcasing the physical strength & team-building abilities of it’s cast member participants. This year there were 79 teams to participate in the beloved activity.
A co-ed team dubbed “Shut Up and Let Me Row… HEY!” from Disney’s Animal Kingdom …
