Updates on the Construction of the TRON Attraction at the Magic Kingdom

The new TRON attraction at the Magic Kingdom in under construction and today we got an updated about what other attractions will be impacted by the project.
The attraction will be located in a new area next to Space Mountain.
Starting in December, the Walt Disney World Railroad will go on hiatus with the train parked at the Main Street U.S.A. station. Guests will have the chance to take some great photos at the station during this time.

Play Disney Parks App Debuts June 30 at Walt Disney World and Disneyland

The Play Disney Parks app is debuting this weekend – June 30 – at both Disneyland and the Walt Disney World Resort.
The app is available now for pre-order at the App Store and Google Play.
When it goes live on June 30 guests at Disneyland and Disney World will “turn wait time into play time with all-new interactive experiences and activities created for select attraction queues.”
Attraction queue activities include: “Playset Party” for Toy Story Mania, “Off to Neverland” for Peter Pan’s Flight, “Rocket Race” in Space Mountain, and  “Andy’s Boardgame Blast” …

New ‘Throughout the Years’ Collection Coming to Disney Dream Store at D23 Expo

The Disney Dream Store at the D23 Expo will feature the new “Throughout the Years” merchandise collections.
The collection celebrate milestones at the Disney Parks including the 50th anniversary of Pirates of the Caribbean, the 40th anniversary of Space Mountain, Epcot’s 35th anniversary, and the 30th anniversary of Star Tours.
The collections were created in collaboration with the Walt Disney Archives. The designers were able to use archival images to incorporate into the merchandise designs.

Classic Space Mountain Returns to Disneyland Today

Today marks the 40th anniversary of Space Mountain at Disneyland and the classic version of the attraction has returned!
In recent years the popular attraction has been themed as Hyperspace Mountain for Star Wars and Space Mountain Ghost Galaxy.
But to celebrate the 40th anniversary, guests will once again have a chance to experience the original, classic version of the ride.

Tomorrowland Skyline Lounge Experience Coming to Disneyland

In celebration of the 40th anniversary of Space Mountain at Disneyland, a new lounge experience is debuting in Tomorrowland.
Starting May 26, guests can enjoy the Tomorrowland Skyline Lounge Experience with retro décor and desserts.
The lounge will be open from 8-10 p.m. each night and guests can hang out, enjoy an “interstellar” snack box, and maybe even catch the fireworks show.
The snack box includes both sweet and savory treats like Mickey Cloud Cake, Chocolate Eclipse, Coconut Comet, Planetary Pie, and Moon Rocks (the one savory snack in the box).

Space Mountain Merchandise at Magic Kingdom is Out of This World

The Magic Kingdom’s iconic Space Mountain just celebrated an anniversary on January 19 and guests can check out some fun themed merchandise at the park’s Tomorrowland Light & Power Co.
The store is home a fun collection of tees for adults and kids, but there’s one shirt that fans can only order online starting January 25. The shirt was designed by Disney Design Group artist Richard Terpstra and it features artwork based on the promotional art from the 1970s.

Artists Behind Vinylmation Series Park Starz 3 to Meet Fans on June 27 at D-Street in Downtown Disney

The newest Vinylmation series – Park Starz 3 – was recently released and now fans and collectors have a chance to meet the artists behind the series.
On Friday, June 27, three Disney Design Group artists – Thomas Scott, Casey Jones, and Caley Hicks – will be meeting fans at D-Street in Downtown Disney from 5-6 p.m. The artists will be signing Vinylmations and talking with fans.

‘Space Mountain’ is First Original Graphic Novel from Disney Comics

Disney Comics’ first original graphic novel was inspired by an iconic Disney Parks attraction.
Space Mountain takes readers on an adventure in space that features talking flying saucers, space pirates, and black holes.
The graphic novel is set in the year 2123 and tells the story of two science cadets from the Magellan Science Academy – the good-hearted Tommy Ford (age 11) and the book-smart Stella Macri (age 12). The duo has been picked to join a team of space explorers for a 24 hour mission into the future.

Walt Disney World Guests Can Now Add Additional FastPass+ Selections

Beginning today, April 28, guests at the Walt Disney World Resort theme parks have the ability to add additional FastPass+ entitlements once they have used their first three.
In the “original” FastPass+ system, guests could only have three FastPass+ entitlements per day, and only at one park.
Under the updated system, once a guest has used their first three FastPass+ entitlements at one of the theme parks they can visit a kiosk at the park and add one additional entitlement. Once that FastPass has been used they can select another, and so …
