The Week in Disney News: 2017 Flower and Garden Dates, December Merchandise Events, and More

Happy December! It’s been another full week of exciting Disney news so let’s dive in and see what’s happening.
The 2017 Epcot International Flower and Garden Festival kicks off March 1 and runs through May 29. This year’s festival will feature two new Outdoor Gardens, new topiaries, and much more.
On Monday, December 5, Spaceship Earth will be transformed into the Death Star during a Disney Parks Blog special event. Guests can watch the transformation via a live-stream on the DPB starting at 10:25 p.m. ET.

Spaceship Earth to be Transformed into the Death Star at Disney Parks Blog Meet-Up

The Disney Parks Blog is hosting a special meet-up on Monday, December 5 and during the event Spaceship Earth will be transformed into the Death Star.
The meet-up is an after-hours event at Epcot to celebrate Star Wars at Disney’s Hollywood Studios and the upcoming release of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story.

The History Behind Disneyland’s Halloween Tree

The Halloween Tree located near the Golden Horseshoe Saloon in Disneyland is more than just a tree decorated with grinning jack-o-lanterns and bright lights.
The tree was inspired by Ray Bradbury’s novel ‘The Halloween Tree’ and was dedicated to the author in 2007. Guests on Disney Cruise Line ships during the Halloween season can also see the Pumpkin Tree which is also inspired by Bradbury’s novel.

Artists Behind Vinylmation Series Park Starz 3 to Meet Fans on June 27 at D-Street in Downtown Disney

The newest Vinylmation series – Park Starz 3 – was recently released and now fans and collectors have a chance to meet the artists behind the series.
On Friday, June 27, three Disney Design Group artists – Thomas Scott, Casey Jones, and Caley Hicks – will be meeting fans at D-Street in Downtown Disney from 5-6 p.m. The artists will be signing Vinylmations and talking with fans.
