Happy October! It’s time for Halloween fun and celebrating the 20th Epcot Food and Wine Festival! It’s been another busy week of Disney news, so let’s dive right in!
This week it became official – Downtown Disney was renamed Disney Springs! The shopping, dining, and entertainment complex will feature four “neighborhoods” once the project is completed – The Landing, Marketplace, West Side, and Town Center. When the area is completed in 2016 there will be more than 150 venues for dining, shopping, and entertainment.

Thanksgiving Day Reservations Now Open for Dining at Disneyland Resort

Thanksgiving Day is all about food and family and where better to celebrate than at the Disneyland Resort?
Reservations are open now for Thanksgiving Day dining options at Disneyland, Disney California Adventure, and the Disneyland Resort hotels.
The big Turkey Day celebration is at the Disneyland Hotel ballroom from 12-5 p.m. The feast includes carved roasted turkey and prime rib, stuffing, sweet potato soufflé, and smashed potatoes and gravy. Other choices include salads, smoked salmon, and king crab legs. Desserts include pumpkin and pecan pies, and a chocolate fountain. The price is …

Holiday Dining Options at Walt Disney World for Thanksgiving and New Year’s Eve

Guests with plans to visit the Walt Disney World Resort during the holidays can enjoy a traditional Thanksgiving feast at several locations around property.
Akershus in Epcot’s Norway pavilion will feature special Thanksgiving menu on November 27 that includes turkey breast with all the sides in addition to Norwegian meatballs and pan-seared salmon. At Sanaa in Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge the menu will include poppy seed lavash, naan, and apple-cranberry achar. Artist Point at the Wilderness Lodge will also have a special holiday menu.

Sail Away During the Holiday Season with Disney Cruise Lines

Even though most of the country is in the grips of a heat wave, it’s never too early to start thinking about a winter holiday cruise with Disney Cruise Line.

Disney Helps Prepare Thanksgiving Meal for Coalition for the Homeless

In an effort to provide a traditional Thanksgiving meal to those less fortunate, Chef Tony Marotta and his team at The Walt Disney World Resort partnered with the Coalition for the Homeless to serve close to 600 people a feast on Thanksgiving.
The meal was prepped on Sunday, and included a bounty of traditional Thanksgiving favorites like roast turkey, sweet potatoes, stuffing, green beans, pumpkin pie and sauces, gravy and cranberry relish all made from scratch.

Disneyland Resort Now Accepting Thanksgiving Dinner Reservations

For those of you who aren’t going to cook Thanksgiving dinner, Disneyland Resort has begun accepting reservations for “A Disney Family Thanksgiving Feast.”
The feast will be served from noon to 6 p.m. on November 24 in the grand ballroom of the Disneyland Hotel. Your favorite Disney characters, including Chip and Dale, will be on hand to celebrate the festivities with you. Guests can expect plenty of traditional Thanksgiving favorites, such as roasted turkey breast, mashed potatoes and gravy, and sweet potato souffle. Disney VoluntEARS Bring Spirit of Thanksgiving to Coalition for the Homeless

Every month, Disney VoluntEARS donate personal time to help feed the hungry of Central Florida, and Thanksgiving is no exception.  Chef de Cuisine Leonard Thomson of Epcot Catering and a willing band of Disney VoluntEARS are spending several hours this week preparing a veritable feast to share with the Coalition for the Homeless of Central Florida.
VoluntEARS are preparing meals for more than 700 people who will spend the holiday at the Coalition, including families with small children.
