Adventures by Disney Announces ‘Big Hero 6’ Additions to San Francisco Long Weekend Itinerary

The Adventures by Disney Long Weekend trip to San Francisco, California will now feature excursions inspired by the all-new Disney animated film Big Hero 6.
The film takes place in the fictional town of San Fransokyo which was inspired by San Francisco.
The Adventures by Disney weekend in San Francisco takes guests to landmarks including Muir Woods and includes a tour of the Walt Disney Family Museum and a trip to Lucasfilm.

Registration Open for Animation Summer Camps at The Walt Disney Family Museum

The Walt Disney Family Museum is offering animation summer camps for kids ages 8-18 who want to learn more about the art of animation.
Participants can learn to create an animated story, embrace their creativity through painting and sculpture, and learn from professionals in the animation field. The camps are scheduled for June, July, and August.

Walt Disney’s Daughter, Diane Disney Miller, Dies at Age 79

Diane Disney Miller, the eldest daughter of Walt Disney, died Tuesday at the age of 79. She had suffered a fall at her home in September.
Disney Miller was well-known for her philanthropic work, and was also recognized as one of the inspirations for Disneyland, along with her sister Sharon.

September Programs, Exhibits, and Special Events Announced for the Walt Disney Family Museum

The Walt Disney Family Museum has announced the slate of special events, exhibitions, and programs for the month of September.
Happening now through February 3, 2014, is ‘Water to Paper, Paint to Sky: The Art of Tyrus Wong’ which is a special exhibition that focuses on the life and work of Chinese-American artist Tyrus Wong.
Wong is a painter, muralist, kite maker, lithographer, Hollywood sketch artist, calligrapher, ceramicist, and a Disney Legend. This exhibition features more than 150 of Wong’s work, including paintings that served as the inspiration for the look and …

Celebrate the New Year at The Walt Disney Family Museum

The Walt Disney Family Museum wants you to celebrate the New Year with a host of special events, screenings and activities throughout the month of January. Notable activities include:

Film of the Month: Sleeping Beauty – Relive this beloved Disney classic with special screenings through January. The film will screen daily  at 1:30 p.m. from January 1 to  January 31, except Tuesdays and January 19. The screenings are free for members or with paid museum admission; without museum admission, fees are $7 for adults, $5 for youths.

Celebrate the Holidays at The Walt Disney Family Museum

This winter, The Walt Disney Family Museum wants you to celebrate the holidays and Walt’s birthday with a number of special exhibitions, screenings and other events that take place throughout the month of December.
The special exhibition of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs continues through April 14, 2013 and features over 200 works of art depicting conceptual drawings, story sketches and more.

Celebrate Summer at The Walt Disney Family Museum

This summer, The Walt Disney Family Museum wants you to celebrate the start of summer with special screenings of the classic film Bon Voyage as well as several other events and programs.
Bon Voyage will screen at 1 p.m. and 4 p.m. daily throughout the month of June except for Tuesdays, June 16, 23, and 29. Admission is $7/adults, $5/kids 17 and younger or free with museum admission.
