Disney Infinity 3.0 Preview at Once Upon a Toy in Downtown Disney Marketplace August 28-30

Fans of Disney Infinity can stop by Once Upon a Toy in the Downtown Disney Marketplace for special preview days August 28-30.
The all-day event will give guests the chance to see the new Disney Infinity 3.0 and play the game before its official release on August 30.
New figures for Infinity 3.0 include Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, characters from Disney/Pixar’s Inside Out, and Sam Flynn and Quorra from TRON: Legacy.
Guests can also meet senior producer Ryan Rothengerger who has worked with Disney Infinity from the beginning. He’s the Game Director who …

Nicole Perlman Hired to Pen Disney’s ‘Terra Incognita’

Guardians of the Galaxy co-writer Nicole Perlman has just been tapped by Disney to pen Terra Incognita, an upcoming film project based on an original pitch.
In Latin, “terra icognita” means “unknown land,” but Disney is keeping plot details about the flick tightly under wraps. However, we do know that Justin Springer – who previously worked on Tron: Legacy and Prom, will produce the project.

Catch a Sneak Peek of Disney XD’s TRON: Uprising

This June, Disney XD will debut a new series TRON: Uprising, which takes place between the original 1980’s TRON movie and the 2010 sequel TRON: Legacy.
The series will follow main character Beck, who begins a revolution to protect his world and his family from the evil Clu and General Tesler. Beck, fortunately, was trained by the top warrior in his universe – Tron.
All all-star voice cast includes Elijah Wood, Emmanuelle Chriqui, Mandy Moore, Nate Corddry, Lance Henriksen, Paul Reubens and Bruce Boxleitner reprising his original role of Tron.

Disney in Talks to Make A ‘Mr. Toad’s Wild Ride’ Movie

Sources say that Disney has plans to turn the iconic Disneyland attraction Mr. Toad’s Wild Ride into a feature film.
Pete Candeland, best known for his work on The Gorillaz music videos, is set to direct the live-action/CGI film based on the long-running attraction. While Mr. Toad’s Wild Ride enjoyed a stint at Walt Disney World as well, they closed the attraction in 1998. However, the ride still remains a fan favorite among Disneyland visitors.

D23 Expo to Feature Screenings and Q&A Sessions for ‘Prep and Landing,’ ‘Once Upon a Time’

In their latest announcement of what’s in store for Disney fans at the upcoming D23 Expo, Disney has announced that Expo attendees will be able to get a sneak peek at some upcoming ABC programs. The Expo will feature screenings and Q&A sessions for the highly anticipated new ABC series Once Upon a Time and the holiday special Prep and Landing: Naughty vs. Nice.

‘Tron: Uprising’ Trailer Debuts

This year’s Comic-Con 2011 brought the release of the newest trailer for the upcoming Disney XD series Tron: Uprising. The animated series will take place between the events of Tron and Tron: Legacy, and will feature the voice talents of Elijah Wood, Emmanuelle Chriqui, Mandy Moore, Paul Reubens, Lance Henriksen, and Bruce Boxleitner. David DiGilio to Write Screenplay for ‘Tron: Legacy’ Sequel

Disney has hired David DiGilio to pen the sequel to a sequel, as the writer will create the next installment in the Tron series.
While the sci-fi thriller opened to a less than stellar response, earning only $44 million in the first weekend of its release, it managed to pull in $400 million worldwide during its theatrical run, and additional revenue with sales of DVDs and Blu rays.

Disney XD Launching Several New Shows

With the recent announcement of Disney XD’s cancellation of I’m in the Band, as well as the uncertain future of Zeke and Luther, fans will need to look forward to some of the new shows that are in the pipeline for Disney Channel’s sister station.

Europe’s LOVEFiLM Subscription Service Will Now Stream Disney Movies

In a deal signed by LOVEFiLM and The Walt Disney Company U.K. & Ireland, LOVEFiLM will now stream Disney movies via its Subscription Video On Demand (SVOD) and Transactional Video On Demand (TVOD) service.
This is exciting news for European customers who subscribe to LOVEFiLM, which is Europe’s largest subscription service. Per the deal that was signed, customers can choose from a range of Disney titles to watch instantly via their PC, in-home connected devices, or their PlayStation 3 console.
