The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror at Disney California Adventure is closing early next year and will reopen in the summer of 2017 as Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: BREAKOUT.
The announcement of the ride update was made at Comic-Con by Kevin Feige, President of Marvel Studios.
The backstory of the new attraction is that inside his fortress-like collection, The Collector is displaying the Guardians of the Galaxy. They’re all trapped in customized cases but Rocket has escaped and is enlisting the Collector’s VIPs for help.

This weekend thousands of runners are headed to the Walt Disney World Resort for The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror 10-Miler Weekend, and Disney is offering up some spook-tacular runDisney merchandise for the event.
