New Fantasyland at Magic Kingdom Begins Preview Period

Fans who have been eagerly awaiting the chance to check out Magic Kingdom’s New Fantasyland are in luck – several of the new areas have opened today for the Preview Period.
The areas that are open during this time include:

Be Our Guest Restaurant – French-inspired eatery open for lunch and dinner.
Bonjour! Village Gifts – Located in Belle’s Village.
Enchanted Tales with Belle – An interactive show that features Belle acting out stories from Beauty and the Beast.
Gaston’s Tavern – A casual eatery themed after the popular Disney movie.

Sneak Peek at the Queue for ‘Under the Sea –  Journey of The Little Mermaid’ in New Fantasyland

At the Magic Kingdom, one of the biggest new attractions coming to New Fantasyland is Under the Sea: Journey of The Little Mermaid. While fans are anxiously awaiting the grand opening, we have some photos to share with you of the queue leading up to the attraction.

Walt Disney Imagineers have made it so that guests are instantly immersed in Ariel’s world from the moment they step up to the attraction. In this photo, you can see Prince Eric’s Castle perched high atop a seaside cliff.

Fantasyland Previews Offered to Disney World Annual Passholders

Walt Disney World Annual Passholders will have a chance to visit the New Fantasyland in the Magic Kingdom a little earlier than expected. Disney is offering special preview dates on November 3, 10, and 11, with registration beginning next Monday, October 8 at 12:00 pm EST on the passholder website.
Guests will have a choice of two different itineraries. The first is the “Enchanted Tales with Belle Itinerary”, which includes a tour of Be Our Guest Restaurant, a ride on the new Under the Sea-Journey of the Little Mermaid attraction, and …

New Images Released for Under the Sea – Journey of The Little Mermaid at Magic Kingdom

If you’ve been waiting patiently for more news of the Under the Sea – Journey of The Little Mermaid attraction opening in New Fantasyland at Magic Kingdom park, you’re in luck – we have a few photos to share with you.
This attraction will be located in the grottos beneath Prince Eric’s Castle, and invites riders to follow Ariel’s journey as she meets Prince Eric, falls in love and makes a deal with the evil Sea Witch Ursula.

Walt Disney World Fantasyland Opening Set for December 6

Today, Disney announced that the grand opening celebration for the New Fantasyland will be held December 6 at Walt Disney World Resort.  On that day, several of the most anticipated new attractions will debut, including  Be Our Guest Restaurant, Enchanted Tales with Belle, Gaston’s Tavern, Bonjour! Village Gifts, Under the Sea ~ Journey of The Little Mermaid, and Ariel’s Grotto.

Disney Hiring 800 People for New Fantasyland Expansion at Magic Kingdom Park

The Fantasyland expansion at Magic Kingdom in Walt Disney World Resort is the largest expansion in Magic Kingdom History – and will create a whopping 800 permanent jobs once construction has been fully completed.
Right now, there have already been 700 temporary construction jobs created, but the permanent jobs will open once the new Fantasyland is fully operational. These jobs will include everything from food and beverage workers to merchandising to attraction operations services.

Complete Look at Prince Eric’s Castle at Magic Kingdom Park

We’ve shown you a few sneak peeks of Prince Eric’s Castle in the New Fantasyland at Magic Kingdom, but now you can see the complete look at this new abode, which will house Under the Sea – Journey of The Little Mermaid attraction.
As with Beast’s Castle, Walt Disney Imagineers used a technique called forced perspective to “trick” the eye into thinking objects are larger than they actually are. In this way, Prince Eric’s abode seems to tower above you when the structure really isn’t as large as you think.

Sneak Peek: Prince Eric’s Castle at Magic Kingdom Park

Last year, we were able to show you a glimpse at the making of Beast’s Castle in Fantasyland. Now, we can give you a sneak peek of another royal’s residence. Prince Eric’s Castle at New Fantasyland in Magic Kingdom will house the Under the Sea – Journey of The Little Mermaid attraction, and we have several photos to show you so you can catch a glimpse of what this attraction will look like.

More Fantasyland Opening Dates Announced for 2012
