Walt Disney Voices Mickey Mouse in Never-Before-Seen Animated Short

Walt Disney Animation Studios announced that a never-before-seen animated short is debuting June 11 at the Annecy Animation Festival in Annecy, France. The thing that makes this film so special is that Walt Disney is the voice of Mickey Mouse!
In the hand-drawn, black and white animated short Get A Horse!, Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse and their friends Horace Horsecollar and Clarabelle Cow are enjoying a musical wagon ride until Peg-Leg Pete tries to run them off the road.

Recently, James Franco, star of Disney’s Oz: The Great and Powerful, celebrated the film’s success in a grand way: he took a trip to Disneyland.

Disney’s ’1952′ Movie Changes to ‘Tomorrowland’

Disney’s upcoming flick 1952 has received a name change: Tomorrowland. But will the film tie-in to the Disney Parks area of the same name?
The upcoming live-action flick will star George Clooney, and Damon Lindelof and Brad Bird have penned the script. While details of the movie are remaining tightly under wraps, both Bird and Lindelof have posted clues about the movie on Twitter, including black and white photos of Walt Disney himself.
Disney officials wouldn’t comment on whether any scenes would be filmed at Disneyland.

Disney VoluntEARS Donate Thousands of Toys to Toys for Tots

Last week, a group of Disney VoluntEARS joined the lovable Mickey Mouse to donate 35,000 toys to the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve’s Toys for Tots program. The new toys, which include games, dolls and books, will benefit local Florida children in Orange County and Seminole County. This is the latest in Disney’s history of helping the Toys for Tots program. Nearly 60 years ago, Walt Disney himself helped design the charity’s official logo.

Celebrate the Holidays at The Walt Disney Family Museum

This winter, The Walt Disney Family Museum wants you to celebrate the holidays and Walt’s birthday with a number of special exhibitions, screenings and other events that take place throughout the month of December.
The special exhibition of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs continues through April 14, 2013 and features over 200 works of art depicting conceptual drawings, story sketches and more.

Oldest Mickey Mouse Poster to Be Auctioned

Later this month, the oldest known movie poster of Mickey Mouse will be auctioned off.
Created in 1928, the vintage movie poster was obtained by Crowell Havens Beech, a Chico resident who has held on to the poster since 1988. It depicts Mickey Mouse and the words “The World’s Funniest Cartoon,” and is believed to have been created the same year that Mickey Mouse was brought to life by Walt Disney.

Disney to Film Portions of ‘Saving Mr. Banks’ at Disneyland Park

On November 6 and 7, 2012, portions of Disneyland park will be walled off in order for a film crew to work on Disney’s upcoming flick Saving Mr. Banks. The film follows the efforts of Walt Disney as he tries to persuade author P.L. Travers to make a movie based on her character Mary Poppins. Tom Hanks plays Walt Disney, while Emma Thompson will star as P.L. Travers.
