Walt Disney Animation Studios Announces Next Film – ‘Moana’

Walt Disney Animation Studios has announced its 56th animated feature film – Moana.
The film is scheduled to arrive in theaters in 2016, two years ahead of the originally announced release date of 2018.
The film is a CG-animated comedy-adventure that tells the story of a spirited teenager on a mission to fulfill her ancestor’s quest.

Disney Lends Support to 2014 World Maker Faire New York

Disney recently teamed with the World Maker Faire and the New York Hall of Science to support the World Maker Faire New York.
More than 75,000 kids and families had a chance to experience the festival that works to inspired the inventors of tomorrow.
Disney sponsored a tent at World Maker Faire New York and kids had a chance to see the star of Walt Disney Animation Studios’ Big Hero 6, Baymax. Visitors could also use 3D printers to created mini versions of Baymay.

An All-New Animated Short, ‘Frozen Fever’ Set to Debut in the Spring of 2015

Walt Disney Animation Studios has announced an all new animated short featuring the cast of Frozen.
Frozen Fever is the first project that brings together the Academy Award winning team behind Frozen.
The animated short is directed by Jennifer Lee and Chris Buck and is being produced by Peter Del Vecho.
It will star Anna, Elsa, Kristoff, and Olaf and will feature an all-new original song by Robert Lopez and Kristen Anderson-Lopez.
The project was announced during the ABC special The Story of Frozen: Making an Animated Classic, which aired September 2.

‘Frozen’ Producer Confirms Broadway Plans for Hit Disney Animated Film

Frozen really is headed to Broadway.
The film’s producer Peter Del Vecho confirmed earlier reports that that Academy Award-winning film is being turned into a Broadway play.
In an interview with TVGuide.com Del Vecho said “there is no specific timeline” for when Frozen might make its way to Broadway but would only say that it was “under development.”
Chris Buck and Jennifer Lee – the film’s director’s – are also rumored to be attached to the project.

Walt Disney Animation Studios’ ‘Frozen’ Wins Oscar for Best Animated Feature

For the first time (in forever) Walt Disney Animation Studios took home the Academy Award for Best Animated Feature.
The Studios’ worldwide phenomenon Frozen was named Best Animated Feature at the Oscar telecast on March 2. To date the film has earned $1 billion in worldwide ticket sales.
The Animated Film category was introduced at the Academy Awards in 2002 and has been dominated by Disney’s Pixar studios. That studio has won seven times in the last 11 years but was not nominated this year.

‘Frozen’ Glides past the $500 Million Mark at the Box Office

Disney’s animated hit Frozen broke the $500 million mark at the box office before the end of 2013, making it the fourth Disney film to reach that milestone last year.

The Walt Disney Studios Set another Company Record with 2013 Domestic Box Office Results

Despite a slight bump in the road thanks to a certain masked ranger, this year has been a rather great year for The Walt Disney Studios.
