D23 Announces Slate of Special Events for 2017

D23: The Official Disney Fan Club recently announced its slate of special member events for 2017.
Some of the events include screenings of Disney films like Tangled and Pirates of the Caribbean: Curse of the Black Pearl. There will also be events at the Walt Disney Studios lot and the Walt Disney World Resort.
The 2017 D23 Fanniversary is celebrating the 35th anniversary of Epcot, and D23 will have special events at Disney World in addition to stories of the theme park told via videos, photos, and artwork.

Walt Disney Archives Announces Disneyland: The Exhibit at D23 Expo

Another event has been added to the slate at this year’s D23 Expo in Anaheim.
The Walt Disney Archives just announced the addition of ‘Walt Disney Archives presents – Disneyland: The Exhibit’ at the Expo.
This display will be the largest ever presented by the archives at the Expo is a salute to the 60th anniversary of Disneyland.
It will feature more than 300 props, costumes, Audio-Animatronic figures, attraction vehicles, photos, artwork, and memorabilia from Disneyland.

D23 Announces Slate of Special Events for 2015

Members of D23: The Official Disney Fan Club have a chance to experience some very special events throughout the year.
The fun kicks off on March 12 when D23 members will be treated to a screening of the live-action Cinderella followed by a reception for D23 Gold Members. This event follows The Walt Disney Company 2015 Annual Meeting of Shareholders at the Palace of Fine Arts in San Francisco.
If you’re a D23 member but not a shareholder you can still attend the annual meeting.

Adam Sanderson Picked to Oversee D23: The Official Disney Fan Club and the Walt Disney Archives

Adam Sanderson – a 17-year Disney veteran – has been named senior vice president, corporate communications of The Walt Disney Company.
In this role Sanderson will oversee D23: The Official Disney Fan Club, Disney Corporate Creative Resources, and the Walt Disney Archives.
Sanderson most recently served as senior vice president, franchise management of Disney/ABC Television Group. In that role he was responsible for launching and sustaining franchises for Disney Channel, Disney XD, Disney Junior, Radio Disney, ABC Family, ABC Daytime, and ABC Entertainment Group.

D23 to Bring ‘Treasures of the Walt Disney Archives’ Exhibit to Chicago

Last year, D23 gave Disney fans an exciting look at many of the Walt Disney Archives’ most iconic pieces when the Treasures of the Walt Disney Archives exhibit opened at the Reagan Library in California. 1938 Drawing of Mickey Mouse Released From Disney Archives

“Mickey’s Toothache,” a 1938 drawing of Mickey Mouse and his then-nemesis Pete, was recently released from the Disney archives. The drawing was originally part of an unfinished cartoon that was meant to make Mickey a more complete character.
The artwork, created by Ferdinand Horvath, shows Mickey’s nightmarish trip to the dentist. In the drawing, Pete chases after Mickey with some wicked looking tools in hand while an anthropomorphic dentist’s chair attempts to grab Mickey.

‘D23 Presents: Treasures of the Walt Disney Archives’ Exhibit Opens at Reagan Library

This week, a momentous occasion for Disney fans occurred, as Disney and the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library officially debuted the D23 Presents: Treasures of the Walt Disney Archives exhibit. This exhibit, which is housed at the Reagan Library in Simi Valley, California, is the largest Disney archives exhibit in the world, giving Disney fans a look at more of the historic and legendary items in the company’s Archives than ever before.

Celebrate Summer at The Walt Disney Family Museum

This summer, The Walt Disney Family Museum wants you to celebrate the start of summer with special screenings of the classic film Bon Voyage as well as several other events and programs.
Bon Voyage will screen at 1 p.m. and 4 p.m. daily throughout the month of June except for Tuesdays, June 16, 23, and 29. Admission is $7/adults, $5/kids 17 and younger or free with museum admission.
