Disney Sports Solutions Makes Youth Sports Travel Easier on Families

Parents with kids participating in youth sports often find themselves traveling out of state for tournaments, including trips to the Walt Disney World Resort. And sometimes, the scheduling and organization of these trips can lead to not-so-magical-moments.
But there is help out there thanks to the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex and a new solution-oriented program that aims to make youth sports travel easier for families. It’s called Disney Sport Solutions and the program includes pre-event fundraising help with programs that utilize Disney and its partners including ESPN the Magazine.

New Duffy the Disney Bear Items Arriving at Disney Parks for the Summer

Duffy the Disney Bear is getting some new outfits added to his wardrobe this summer, including a Sully-inspired “monster suit” that celebrates the June 21 opening of Monsters University.
There are other new outfits for the 17-inch version of Duffy including a railroad conductor outfit that features official logos for the railroads at Walt Disney World Resort, Disneyland Resort, and Disneyland Paris. For the Fourth of July, you can dress Duffy in a patriotic red, white, and blue outfit complete with an “Uncle Sam” hat, and Duffy can don a version …

Walt Disney Parks and Resorts Extends and Expands Relationship with H2O Plus

The H2O Plus products found in resort rooms at the Walt Disney World Resort and Disneyland Resort are going to be available at Aulani, a Disney Resort and Spa in Hawaii, and internationally at Hong Kong Disneyland Resort and Disneyland Resort Paris as part of a new deal between the company and Walt Disney Parks and Resorts.
In addition to the international deal, H2O Plus is going to sponsor five runDisney races at Walt Disney World and Disneyland, providing a variety of hair and skin care products during the race weekends. …

New Merchandise Featuring Select Disney Resort Hotels Arrives This Summer at Walt Disney World

This summer select Disney Resort hotels will have non-character themed resort merchandise available for purchase, featuring artwork designed by Disney Design Group artist Tim Whalen.
The merchandise features symbols or architectural details that are representative of each resort. Whalen says the details are “like characters that guests may immediately recognizes when staying at those specific resorts.”

Epcot International Food & Wine Festival and Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party Are Part of the Magic of Fall at Walt Disney World Resort

June Merchandise Events Announced for the Walt Disney World Resort

The Walt Disney World Resort recently announced merchandise events for the month of June, and the lineup includes the latest pin and Vinylmation releases in the 2013 series, in addition to the new Monsters University Series 1 Vinylmation.
Disney Fine Artist Greg McCullough will have an artist showcase at Uptown Jewelers at the Magic Kingdom June 3-6 from 10 a.m.-12 p.m. and 2-6 p.m. each day. Dooney & Bourke Mickey Rainbow Letter Collection Debuts at Tren-D This Month

The new Disney Dooney & Bourke collection is debuting this month at Tren-D in the Downtown Disney Marketplace at the Walt Disney World Resort. This design is called the “Mickey Rainbow Letter Collection” and features the words “Mickey” and “Minnie” in rainbow letters in addition to Mickey and Minnie head silhouettes on a black background.
The collection includes a large Pocket Tote ($295), a Satchel ($195), a Pocket Satchel ($260), and a Tablet Sleeve ($90). These items will be available beginning May 25 at Tren-D.

The Walt Disney Company Reports Second Quarter Earnings for Fiscal Year 2013

Times are good at The Walt Disney Company. The company reported an overall profit of $1.5 billion for the second quarter of the fiscal year – up 32 percent from the same period last year. Revenue was also up nearly 10 percent to $10.6 billion. These results exceeded the expectations on Wall Street.
Revenue at the parks and resorts increased 14 percent to $3.3 billion and operating income increased 73 percent to $383 million. This boost was due in part to increased guest spending and attendance at the Walt Disney World …

Walt Disney World Cast Member VoluntEARS Build New Playground

Last weekend a group of Walt Disney World Cast Member VoluntEARS came together with other community partners to build a new KaBOOM! playground in Clermont, Florida. The project was part of the ongoing 30th anniversary celebration of the Disney VoluntEARS program.
Planning for the playground started in March at a “Design Day” event where local kids had a chance to meet with KaBOOM!, Nature Explore, and Disney to design the new play space. One unique area in the new playground is an outdoor classroom that is meant to inspire children to …
