If you’re visiting the Walt Disney World Resort in August there is a new slate of special merchandise events planned, with many events taking place in Disney Springs.
On July 29 the second series for Vinylamtion – Star Wars: The Force Awakens will be released at Disney Pin Traders, Star Wars Galactic Outpost, and Launch Bay Cargo in Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
Two new Precious Moments dolls are being released in August at Marketplace Fun Finds in Disney Springs. Doll designer Linda Rick will be meeting fans on August 12-13.

This week, Walt Disney World celebrated an exciting new development, as their newest resort, Disney’s Art of Animation Resort, officially opened to guests. The resort, which is considered one of Disney’s “value” resorts, celebrates animation in its whimsical theme and immerses guests in the worlds of some of their favorite animated Disney and Pixar films.
“Our goal was to make guests feel like they have been immersed in the artistry and enchantment of Walt Disney and Disney•Pixar animated classics,” said Walt Disney Imagineer Frank Paris.

The Orlando Sentinel has confirmed that the construction taking place adjacent to Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort and Spa is indeed a new Disney Vacation Club destination.
Rumors were rampant when the mysterious project first broke ground earlier this year. At the time, Disney released information that the construction would result in the temporary closure of the Grand Floridian’s spa, but the company refused to confirm that the expansion was indeed DVC-related.

Early last month, Disney unveiled their soon-to-open princess themed “Royal Rooms,” which will debut at the Port Orleans Resort at Walt Disney World. One Central Florida group has found a way to give unused and discarded soaps and shampoos from Walt Disney World Resort hotels a new lease on life. And Disney’s dedicated group of VoluntEARS are helping with the initiative.
Disney VoluntEARS, Disney’s company-wide program for employee volunteerism, work with Clean the World, an Orlando-based nonprofit, to collect, sanitize, and repackage discarded toiletries from the nearly 28,000 hotel rooms on Disney property, in order to distribute them to people in need domestically and worldwide.
