Author Ridley Pearson Speaks to Students at Disney Homeschool Days

The Walt Disney World Resort just completed another Disney Homeschool Days event, during which author Ridley Pearson headlined events planned for homeschool students from around the country.
Pearson, author of both the Kingdom Keepers and Peter and the Starcatcher series of books for young adults, spoke to the crowd of about 800 students gathered at the Premiere Theater in Disney’s Hollywood Studios. RUMOR:  Walt Disney World to Begin Enforcing FASTPASS Return Times

Beginning March 7, 2012, you’ll need you may need to take your FASTPASS window seriously, as it is rumored that  Walt Disney World will begin enforcing the times that guests may utilize FASTPASSes.
The FASTPASS system, which allows guests to obtain a ticket for the resort’s most popular attractions later in the day, thus avoiding long stand-by lines, creates a time window during which guests may return and enjoy the ride, normally with a much shorter waiting time.  Previously, it was a well-known fact among Disney fans that guests could return …

New York Giants Quarterback and Super Bowl MVP Eli Manning Visits Walt Disney World

He said he was coming to Walt Disney World, and he made good on his word.
Arriving in Orlando directly from Indianapolis, New York Giants’ quarterback and Super Bowl MVP Eli Manning spent part of the day yesterday enjoying himself at Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom.  After Manning rode down Main Street during a ticker tape parade celebrating his team’s victory, he posed for pictures with Mickey, Minnie, and some of the NFL Youth Players, who were also in attendance.  If you didn’t get to see the parade firsthand, we wanted …

First Tree Planted in Magic Kingdom’s New Fantasyland

We’ve been following the progress on the New Fantasyland coming to Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom, an exciting expansion that will include exciting rides, experiences, and restaurants for park guests to enjoy. While the new expansion is set to open in phases beginning in late 2012, this week brought an interesting new development in the expansion’s construction, as the very first tree in New Fantasyland was officially planted.

Ring in the New Year with Special Events in Walt Disney World

Heading to Walt Disney World for New Year’s Eve this year? Disney has just announced some of the special fireworks shows and events that will be featured throughout the Resort that night to help guests celebrate the start of 2012.

ESPN Wide World of Sports Named ‘Business of the Year’ at Central Florida SPORTYS Awards

Last month, Walt Disney World’s ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex earned the title of “Business of the Year” at the inaugural Central Florida SPORTYS Awards. The SPORTYS Awards honors both amateur and professional local athletes, coaches, employees and businesses from throughout Lake, Orange, Osceola, Seminole and Volusia Counties.
Accepting the award for ESPN Wide World of Sports was the director of sports programs and events at Walt Disney World Resort, Mike Millay.

Walt Disney World Celebrates 40th Anniversary

Happy birthday, Walt Disney World! The Vacation Kingdom opened its gates to the public exactly 40 years ago today, on October 1, 1971. The “Florida Project,” as it was initially known, fulfilled Walt Disney’s dream of bringing the magic and entertainment of Disneyland to the East Coast, this time with the blessing of size. Celebrate Walt Disney World’s 40th Anniversary with Dooney & Bourke
