The Creative Arts Emmys 2010 were awarded last night, and Disney/ABC’s achievements in television this year were not forgotten. While HBO was the top winner of the night, earning 17 awards, ABC led the broadcast networks with 15 awards.
ABC’s TV programs earned many of the awards, including “Modern Family,” which took home three awards for their casting, picture editing, and sound mixing. “Dancing With the Stars” also earned multiple awards, receiving two awards for hairstyling and technical direction. “Grey’s Anatomy,” “Lost,” “Jimmy Kimmel Live,” and “FlashForward” all won one award …

Just in time for back to school shopping, Target will be filling the racks of its junior’s department with a new clothing line marketed to tween girls. “D-Signed” will be available on August 1st, both in stores and on Target.com; featuring designs inspired by the style of young Disney Channel characters. The wildly popular series “The Wizards of Waverly Place” is about to get more airtime on the Disney Channel as a 4th season is announced. Scheduled to start production again this August the Emmy Award-winning fantasy series features teen stars Selena Gomez, David Henrie, Jake T. Austin, Jennifer Stone, Maria Canals-Barrera and David DeLuise. In addition to another season, Disney also announced a sequel to the 2009 made-for-TV film “Wizards of Waverly Place: The Movie.”

Actress Selena Gomez, who’s been featured on the Disney Channel’s highly popular “Wizards of Waverly Place” sitcom since 2007 proves to be Disney’s highest paid teen star. According to a recently published list by the New York Post, Gomez’s paycheck beats out fellow starlets Miley Cyrus & Demi Lovato.
For each episode of Wizards of Waverly Place Selena pockets $25,000, unlike Miley Cyrus who earns $15,000 per episode on Hannah Montana. Demi Lovato follows by grabbing $12,000 per episode on “Sonny With a Chance.”

In an age where most television networks have abandoned the traditional family sitcom to give way to reality programming & action drama hits, ‘Good Luck Charlie’ is aimed at bringing back a more family-focused theme. Debuting Sunday, April 4th at 8:30 EST on the Disney Channel the new sitcom will rely on rooted characters and a low-key concept to drive viewership.

At the spirited age of 17 not only has actress Selena Gomez gained teenaged fame on Disney’s “Wizards of Waverly Place,” but she’s about to add designer to her list of accomplishments.
Gomez’s “Dream Out Loud” collection for Kmart stores will initially feature accessories, purses, and sportswear aimed at teenagers like herself.
