Disney California Adventure’s World of Color nighttime spectacular has seen plenty of improvements and updates since it’s debut in 2010. With the release of Disney/Pixar’s Brave this year, the show will be getting another update – a sequence inspired by the upcoming film.
In the new sequence, which will be set to composer Patrick Doyle’s Scottish-inspired score, we will be introduced to Princess Merida as she races across the Highlands on a mission to change the fate of her world.

Our friends at the Disney Food Blog have announced that Carthay Circle Restaurant, which opens at Disney’s California Adventure this summer, is now taking reservations!
As with all things Disney, the restaurant has a story. Carthay Circle is set in 1937, on the eve when Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs premiered in the theater. The menu was designed to reflect this time period, but diners can expect a modern twist to the menu offerings, too. Today marks the start of Disneyland Paris‘ special 20th Anniversary Celebration, and as part of the festivities, Disneyland Paris guests will be able to enjoy a brand-new nighttime show that is truly spectacular. “Disney Dreams!,” which will make its official debut at the park tonight, brings together projections, water, fireworks, and more to create a truly stunning show.

Tom Staggs, chairman of Walt Disney Parks and Resorts, hinted that a new scene could be added to Disney California Adventure’s “World of Color” show.
During his speech at the Orange County Business Council meeting last week, Staggs told attendees “you shouldn’t be surprised to see something from ‘Brave’… in the not too distant future.”
Brave, the upcoming Pixar film that follows a courageous princess named Merida, is scheduled to debut in theaters June 22. However, a Disney spokeswoman said no date has been set for an addition to “World of Color.” …

This year, Disneyland Paris will be celebrating its 20th anniversary, and some exciting new shows will arrive at the park as part of the celebration. The two nighttime shows, Disney Dreams and Disney Magic on Parade, will debut in April as the park marks its 20th year of operation.

Yesterday marked an exciting milestone for the Disneyland Resort, when their newest nighttime spectacular, World of Color, celebrated its 1,000th performance. The exciting show uses water, color, light, animation, and music to create a “living Fantasia,” and has been delighting guests nightly since June 2010 at Disney California Adventure.

Disneyland Resort’s second park, California Adventure, opened ten years ago this week – to lackluster reviews and lukewarm attendance. It rained for weeks. And then 9/11 happened, and a nation was plunged into fear and mourning.
In retrospect, many factors contributed to California Adventure’s mediocrity. The original ideas were scaled back before they were ever built.
