Teddy Newton and Lee Unkrich to Participate in Oscar Panels Open to the Public

Teddy Newton and Lee Unkrich will be participating in panel discussions sponsored by the Academy of Motion Pictures and Sciences.

On Tuesday, February 22, Newton, director of the Disney Pixar short “Day & Night,” will participate in Oscar’s Annual celebration, Shorts!  The event, which includes a screening of both the live action and animated short films nominated for this year’s Oscars, will also feature a discussion by many of the films’ directors.

Unkrich, director of “Toy Story 3,” will participate in a symposium with the directors of other 2011 Animated Feature Oscar Nominees.  Each director will feature a clip of his film and discuss the creative and development processes.  The event will take place at the Samuel Goldwyn Theater in Beverly Hills on Thursday, February 24.

Both events are open to the public, but are expected to sell out very quickly.  Tickets go on sale tomorrow, Tuesday, February 1, and are only $5!  Tickets for both events are available on the Academy’s website.
