‘Teen Beach Movie’ Premiere Set for Friday, July 19 on Disney Channel

Get your beach blankets and surf boards ready. Just in time for the height of summer fun, Disney has announced that its highly anticipated Teen Beach Movie will premiere on the Disney Channel Friday, July 19.

The made for TV musical stars Ross Lynch (Austin from Disney’s Austin & Ally) and Maia Mitchell (ABC Family’s The Fosters) as romantic duo Brady and McKenzie, who are transported via time warp into a 60s beach party movie. While the couple figures out how to return to present day, must spontaneous singing and dancing ensues.

During the surfer couple’s visit to the past, they enter the battle of bikers versus surfers for control of the beach turf. They must be careful not to tamper with the movie’s plot, or it could ultimately impact their destiny.

A trailer for the movie will premiere on Disney Channel March 15. The film will also produce a soundtrack of 12 songs, which are described as being influenced by surf rock, Motown R&B, rockabilly. and pop. The collection will be available from Walt Disney Records Tuesday, July 16 on iTunes and in stores across the country.
