‘The Mickey Check’ Debuts at Walt Disney World Resort and Disneyland

3 December 2012 No Comment

The Walt Disney World Resort and Disneyland have started rolling out “The Mickey Check” on menus throughout both resorts. The Mickey Check was designed to give parents an easily recognizable way to identify meals for their children that meet the Disney Nutrition Guidelines, which includes kid-appropriate portions and more nutritious meals.

In order to qualify for The Mickey Check, meals must include at least three of the following:

  • Fruits and vegetables
  • Low-fat dairy products
  • Whole grains
  • Lean protein, eggs, beans, and/or nuts
In order to adhere to Disney’s dietary guidelines, all menu items with “The Mickey Check” must be ordered as-is without substitutions.

The counter service lunch menu at Be Our Guest Restaurant in New Fantasyland is the first menu to debut with The Mickey Check. The Mickey Check will appear on more menus throughout Disneyland and The Walt Disney World Resort beginning January of next year.
