The Walt Disney Studios Set New International Box Office Record

finding dory logoThe Walt Disney Studios has set a new international box office record, in turn breaking its own record from 2015.

So far in 2016 The Studios has made $3.566 billion. In July of this year the Studios set a new industry record when it reached $3 billion at the international box office. In 2015, Disney made $3.565 billion at the box office worldwide.

The international records come ahead of three major releases: Marvel’s Doctor Strange on November 14; Walt Disney Animation Studios’ Moana on November 23; and Lucasfilm’s Rogue One: A Star Wars Story on December 16.

The box office this year has been good for the Studios’ brands with Marvel’s Captain America: Civil War earning $1.15 billion; Zootopia earning $1.023 billion; and The Jungle Book earning $966 million globally.

Pixar’s Finding Dory earned $1.011 billion globally, making it the No. 3 film for 2016 and the No. 6 film of the year internationally.
