The Week in Disney News: Dates Announced for 2017 Food and Wine Festival, Updates on Wilderness Lodge, and More

wilderness lodge updateHappy end-of-Thanksgiving weekend! We hope you had a great holiday. Now it’s time to dig in and check out the latest news you might have missed.

The dates for the 2017 Epcot Food and Wine Festival have been announced. And, for the first time ever, the festival starts in August – on August 31 to be exact!

Speaking of festival, Disney also announced the new Epcot Festival of the Arts, which begins in January.

We learned this week that Disney’s Wilderness Lodge is adding a new restaurant, Geyser Point Bar & Grill. And the new pool at the Boulder Ridge Villas at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge is expected to open in the summer of 2017.

Hong Kong Disneyland has announced a multi-year expansion that includes a Frozen-themed area and an area inspired by Marvel.

A new party featuring Princess Tiana is coming to the Magic Kingdom. Tiana’s Riverboat Party – Ice Cream Social and Viewing Party features an ice cream social at the docks of the Liberty Square Riverboat plus a special viewing location for the Festival of Fantasy Parade on the Liberty Square Riverboat.

D23 has announced its slate of special events for 2017.

More details have been announced for Pandora – The World of Avatar at Disney’s Animal Kingdom. And, MagicBands 2.0 are coming to Walt Disney World Resort very soon.
