The Week in Disney News – Epcot Food and Wine Festival Menus, Shanghai Disney News, and 2015 Disney Legends

food and wineWhat a week it was in Disney news! Disneyland turned 60 years old on Friday, July 17, the 2015 Disney Legends were announced, and the full menus were released for this fall’s Epcot Food and Wine Festival!

Disneyland is now officially 60 years old and the fun continues this fall when Halloween Time kicks off in September. Mickey’s Halloween Party is planned for 17 nights during Halloween Time and tickets go on sale July 29 for the general public.

The 2015 Epcot Food and Wine Festival starts September 25 and this week Disney released the full menus for all the marketplace booths! It’s time to start planning how you’re going to wine and dine around World Showcase.

Right now at Disney’s Hollywood Studios guests are enjoying Frozen Summer Fun and starting July 26 guests ages 3-12 can be transformed into an ice princess at the new Ice Palace Boutique. The Boutique not only includes a makeover package but there’s also an Ice Palace Cafe where guests can enjoy Frozen-inspired treats.

Disney and Britain’s Prince Harry have announced that the 2016 Invictus Games will be held at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex in May 2016. The Invictus Games are the only international adaptive sporting event for injured active duty and veteran service members.

At next month’s D23 Expo the 2015 class of Disney Legends will be honored. This year’s honorees include George Lucas, Susan Lucci, Danny Elfman, animator Andreas Deja, former ESPN president George Bodneheimer, and more.

And finally, Disney has announced more details about Shanghai Disney Resort. This new resort will “blend the magic of Disney and the cultural spirit and beauty of China.” The theme park will feature the tallest, largest, and most interactive castle in any of the Disney theme parks.
