earffeltower2Happy middle of the month! We’re getting through this together, right? It was another week full of Disney news so let’s dive right in.

We all knew it was coming – the inevitable announcement of closings at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. The iconic Earffel Tower is coming down and it’s time to say goodbye to Lights! Motor! Action! and the Studio Catering Company.

As sad as all of that might be we have to look at the bigger picture – eventually we’ll be able to enjoy Toy Story Land and Star Wars Land. And that means the Studios will once again be a “whole” park instead of a shell of what it used to be.

Speaking of theme parks, Disney has announced the opening day of Shanghai Disney Resort. The resort will celebrate its grand opening on June 16!

Shanghai Disneyland will be home to six themed lands and attractions that were designed specifically for the people of China. The park is home to Treasure Cove, which is the first pirate-themed land in any Disney park.

Disney California Adventure is getting ready to celebrate the Lunar New Year on February 5-8. Guests can celebrate the Year of the Monkey each day from 11 a.m. until 5 p.m.

Disney has released a preview of what the reimagined Rivers of America will look like at Disneyland. As part of the Star Wars Land expansion Frontierland will get a new waterfront area along the north bank of the Rivers of America.

If you’re making plans to check out Cirque du Soleil’s La Nouba at Disney Springs you’ll get a chance to see two new acts that were recently added to the show!
