pandoraIt’s official! Pandora – The World of Avatar opened May 27 at Disney’s Animal Kingdom. We have some news about the new land and much more in today’s weekly recap.

Disney hosted the official dedication for Pandora – The World of Avatar on May 24 with CEO Bob Iger and Avatar director James Cameron in attendance.

Guests visiting Pandora can check out the merchandise location Windtraders for an immersive experience – and to get matched with their very own banshee. And speaking of merchandise, guests will find three Pandora-themed MagicBands.

There are also two new Wilderness Explorer badges available in Pandora!

On the West Coast, the new Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: BREAKOUT attraction opened on May 27 at Disney California Adventure.

Production has started on the new Disney Channel musical movie Zombies.

And finally, Rivers of America and the Disneyland Railroad are scheduled to reopen this summer at Disneyland.
