july 4Wow! What a week in Disney World news!

The biggest theme park news story last week has to be the selfie stick ban. The Walt Disney World Resort is banning the ubiquitous selfie sticks as of Tuesday, June 30 from all the Orlando theme parks. Bans will also be instituted at Disneyland, Hong Kong Disney, and Disneyland Paris.

So if you’re traveling to Walt Disney World for the Fourth of July leave the selfie sticks at home, but be ready to celebrate! Disney is planning some magically patriotic celebrations for July 3 and 4 and the Magic Kingdom, Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and Epcot.

But if your travel plans aren’t until 2016 don’t worry! Disney has released the details for the 2016 Magic Your Way travel packages so start your planning now!

We also got a sneak preview last week of the D23 Expo merchandise and we’re pretty excited to see the T-shirts and the new Pandora charm available at the Expo in August.

Speaking of special events…runDisney just announced the first details for the inaugural Disneyland Paris Half Marathon that is taking place in September 2016! Will you be running? Registration opens this October.

Disney also released information on the Candlelight Processional dining packages for this fall. While no names have been released for this year’s narrators guests can start booking their dining packages now.
