Themed Entertainment Association Awards Disney with Honors

The Themed Entertainment Association (TEA) announced the winners of their 18th Annual Thea Awards, and several Disney attractions, as well as an Imagineer, were honored.

Star Tours – The Adventure Continues at both Disneyland park and Disney’s Hollywood Studios were honored with the Award for Outstanding Achievement – Attraction Refresh, based on the extensive remake of the popular ride. Additionally, the Magic Kingdom show “The Magic, The Memories & You” received the Award for Outstanding Achievement – Show Spectacular.

The Animation Magic show aboard the Disney Fantasy, located in the Animator’s Palate Restaurant, was also honored with the Award for Outstanding Achievement – Ingenious Use of Technology. Finally, Disney Imagineer Joe Rohde received The Buzz Price Thea Award – Recognizing a Lifetime of Distinguished Achievements for his work as executive designer on Disney’s Animal Kingdom as well as the recently-opened Aulani, among other projects he has worked on during his 30 years with Disney.
