Third Annual USTA Collegiate Clay Court Invitational Coming to ESPN Wide World of Sports

ESPN_WWS_shield1-369x374The third annual USTA Collegiate Clay Court Invitational, hosted by the Florida State men’s tennis team, begins October 30 at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex.

The tournament runs through November 2 and will feature more than 40 tennis teams from around the country. The number of teams is the most ever in the event’s history.

“We are excited about the opportunity to host the USTA Clay Court Invitational for the third consecutive year,” said Florida State head coach Dwayne Hultquist. “The partnership between the USTA, Disney, and Florida State makes this a unique event. We are looking forward to extended ESPN3 coverage and are hoping the Orlando and central Florida community get behind the event.”

Florida State is ranked No. 37, and will be joined by No. 15 Florida, No. 23 USF, No. 55 Miami, and No. 69 UCF. There are also 22 women’s teams competing including the No. 31 ranked Florida State team. More

The ESPN Wide World of Sports has 10 clay tennis courts including a stadium court that seats more than 1,000 people.

The Collegiate Clay Court Invitational will air on ESPN3.
